I will bring you hope, old friend

Uploading to AO3 in this over-tired state is too much for my barely-there concentration and has predictably devolved into more re-reading and less re-posting of stories. Oh, Xavier/Magneto, how I loved having you break my heart over and over! I need to run errands and clean and pack tonight and I'm afraid I might end up wholly distracted by watching the X-Men movies again instead. Maybe its time for an X-Men renaissance, although I've been afraid to see what I can salvage from the ashes of The Last Stand.

I'm headed north tomorrow, as usual, armed with tea instead of coffee and a miniature snow shovel that lives in my trunk, just in case. Holidays are weird things with my extended family, (the shovel's for potential snowfall, not settling disputes, I promise) but I expect one of the highlights of this year to be the familial viewing of the new Star Trek movie. My parents were the ones who showed me Wrath of Khan for the first time, so I look forward to the geeky bonding.

Speaking of geeky, I almost gave away the secret identity of this yuletart artist while writing this rec. Oops! Go look at this fabulous, gorgeous, amazing Middleman/Umbrella Academy crossover: The Seasonal Crossover Massacre

We call today Christmas Adam in my household, an old joke about the day before Christmas Eve. I hope your pre-holiday time is filled with angsty doomed slash pairings, wintry beauty, and, if there are zombies at the mall, then I wish you a swift crossover rescue.

fiction on paper, god loves man kills, eyes without a face!, whatever remains however improbable, the wreck and not the story of the wreck
