especially when told with such interesting intergalactic body snatching means

I am experiencing the unique blend of bliss and dumb-headedness that follows finishing a story and sending it to beta. It doesn't help that today's weather is a wintry mix of gloominess and that I opted to have a smoothie instead of coffee. The smoothie was delicious, but the brain-stimulating power of frozen blueberries and bananas just doesn't compare to real caffeine.

I am nearly through season nine of Stargate, which brings the number of chronological seasons I've seen up to 3 (I think I've watched seasons one and 2, season 4, half of season 6, and then season 9 and 10.) The DVDs try to encapsulate an episode summary into a single sentence, often to great and surprising success, but the summary for Stronghold, which I just finished, fails to great hilarity: "Daniel fears the worst when Teal'c disappears." It's certainly bad news and deeply suspicious when Teal'c disappears in the beginning of the episode, but I think if anyone thinks the worst, it's Bra'tac, not Daniel, since Bra'tac was actually there for that part of the plot. Maybe Daniel's secretly off worrying in a cut subplot? Also, speaking of Daniel, I think the only good part of Ethon was Daniel making a joke about his own return(s) from the dead.

I paused this morning in the middle of Crusade. I love that Daniel and Vala are so comically linked, and I love that it opens with Vala in the locker room, in Daniel's body, eyeing Cam. Ben Browder and Claudia Black continue to have amazing chemistry, and they do a wonderful job of keeping it controlled and low-key, since the romance plot isn't ever meant to be Cam and Vala.

I have recently acquired a new electric blanket and a new make-up mirror, and both of these items came with hilarious warning stickers. The one on the blanket was bright pink and assured me that, "It will not feel warm to the touch of your hand, even on HI. You must actually use it to experience the cozy warmth it will generate." The mirror's warning was slightly more dire: "Be sure mirror is not in a position where it can reflect sunlight; reflected sunlight can cause fire." So, if I die in a tragic bed fire, you'll know what happened.

you can stay at my place, i'm here to be told, whatever remains however improbable
