My favorite thing about this mix is that I only had one song on it, so it was almost entirely new music. I worked really hard not to listen to anything while writing that I would connect with the story (which resulted in me listening to a lot of Dvorak and Take This To Your Grave on repeat) and this mix really feels like a soundtrack I could have listened to while writing. It's very much about being lost - in pretending, in lying to yourself, in your own mind - and I feel like it's equal parts about Frank and about Gerard, who really fucked up each other's emotional lives in very similar ways in the story, but both managed to come out ok on the other side.
