My morning went something like this: Watch the Nine in the Afternoon video ten billion times, scream "OMG RYAN ROSS LOOK AT YOUR FACE" pretty much every time, got extra-dressed-up for a difficult work event, put my wet hair in a ponytail where it immediately froze into place when I went outside, discovered at the drivers' side door of my car was also frozen into place, tugged and tugged on the door until I finally gave up and crawled in on the passenger side which was somehow unfrozen.
My afternoon and evening was pretty much the above in reverse, with added bonus activities such as withdrawing various copies of ancient Who's Who books from the reference collection and putting a deposit down on a new apartment. (I get the final approval tomorrow, so long as they confirm my credit is ok and I'm not lying about being a librarian.)
Speaking of being a librarian,
olivia_circe was saying she didn't know much about Alicia Simmons, and I offered to do a little research for her. As I was sending her links, she said she didn't want to distract me from doing my actual job, and I was so very happy to tell her that what I was doing was, in fact, my actual job. I mean, no, I don't spend all day evaluating the relative sketchiness of fan sites and the reliability of their information about rock star families, but the method of research and evaluation is the same. I get paid to look shit up!
I've been feeling stressed and anxious lately, and I decided to write something entirely self-indulgent. So this morning, I started writing Amnesia!Gerard. And it was totally awesome. And then, it had a few logistical problems which I glossed over, because, hey, self-indulgent amnesia!fic. But then the logistical problems became interesting, and suddenly I was thinking of Frank calling Lyn-Z and telling her the news that something was wrong with Gerard, and I thought of this whole story where Gerard doesn't remember anything after a week before he got sober, and Lyn-Z and Frank have to help him remember, and the three of them have to explore what their feelings really are for one another and it wasn't a self-indulgent amnesia kissing scene anymore, it had a plot! That I really, really want to write!
It's freezing here, so I'm going to make some hot chocolate. And watch Nine if the Afternoon again. And think about Amnesia!Gerard. This is a good night.
