I love this section because it gives us a hint of how fans and other interested parties see Peter and Fran. Much like the Rolling Stone article several parts back, these interviews, and the posting on the message board of the German-to-English-by-a-Frenchwoman article, give us the band's point of view while at the same time giving us just enough room to extrapolate how the interviewer is going to interpret each oddball comment, each explanation of Bean's absence, each little secret shared. We know what Astin's interrupted great artistic sentiments mean, and we also know not a single word of them will make it into the interview. We can sense the speculation about Bean, and also how the combination of Viggo's insistence that Bean's buildings are important and Billy and Dom's suggestion that Bean's gone native is so completely wacky that it will serve to help dispel most of the rumors. Liv stops Orlando from making a fool of himself with her effortless poise and her teasing, and Ian, the PR demon, lurks behind it all.
