Predating 2: Electric Switcheroo
For those of you not in the know, here's how the night went. Obryant and I show up at the swanky Aubergine downtown and go to the backroom club area. I once saw a performance there during the Jazz Festival. Anyway, we check in, grab a drink, and then grab our badges. Mine says John 12 (although since I was the last to sign up it should have been John 13 (which the other John there took before I got there). I go and sit at table 12 and wait for my female counterpart to arrive. She is running late, so I'm sitting at a table by myself. Which all things being equal was like any other night at a bar. :)
Terra (or Terra 12 if you prefer) arrives.. she is um .. wow.. and I had a nice conversation with her. (Too bad she didn't circle me for at least "friends" but more on that in a minute) The lovely ringer sounds and the men move on to the next table in numberical order (Table 13 to Table 1 of course) It is then I first run into the problem of having John 12 and not John 13.. the woman I'm about to begin a conversation with just finished a conversation with the other John.
Thankfully, this was only a problem for one pass as Alicia one gave me the nickname John 30 which worked out really well for the rest of the evening.
So after your conversation you could circle one or 2 options. LET'S TALK.. AGAIN.. which was supposed to mean DATE and LET'S TALK BUSINESS which was supposed to mean network or FRIEND. Why they didn't just give the choices DATE or FRIEND, don't know.
Anyway, if you circled choice 1 and the young lady circle choice 2, no match for you no information sent. So, I like many hedged my bets.. if I was interested in someone I circled both. I circled BUSINESS for everyone else only b/c honestly they were all nice people.
So I had 9 double circles and 4 single circles.
I was hoping for 5-6 out of those 9.
I ended up with 3 matches.
1, the most drop dead gorgeous woman there, the Stunning Stacey.
2, the funniest, just overall cutest the Lovely Laughing Lisa.
3, the most welcoming something about her cute in her own right, the Aluring Alicia.
I emailed all 3 and got responses from all 3. One has continued responding since the first emails, one let me know she was busy but wants to get back to me when her schedule frees up, and still waiting on the third.
But overall, it was fun and I'm eyeing October 28th to do it again. :)
