Changmin could only stare at his newly purchased 'item'. How in the hell did Yoochun convince him that this was a good idea?
That man is too damn persuasive for his own good. He practically always gets what he wants, when he wants; hence all the lays he has been able to achieve. And even though Changmin hated to admit it most of the time, his friend's active sex life was something he definitely envied. Supposedly even Yoochun could tell, becoming the whole reason for his new and expensive...toy.
"Yoochun, now that I think about it, this is just ridiculous. Why did I listen to you again?" Changmin groaned, running his hands through his hair. He stared at the large box on his living room floor. He blinked a few times, hoping that it might magically disappear. He let out another frustrated groan when he realized it wasn't going to.
"Hey, don't knock it until you try it Minnie. This might be the best decision you will have ever made. Besides, I think it will help." Yoochun wrapped his arm around Changmin's shoulders, his eyes shining with a little too much excitement in Changmin's opinion. He wiggled out of his best friend's hold and began to pace. Pacing had become a habit of his for whenever he got nervous.
"Min, stop pacing. It's a horrible habit. Just trust me. When have I ever done anything that wasn't intended to help you?"
Changmin stopped and looked at his friend, his best friend. He knew Yoochun was right. They had been friends since freshmen year in high school. Changmin was the quiet, introverted type while Yoochun was the complete opposite. He remembered the countless times Yoochun attempted to talk to him, no matter where or what he was doing. Every day at lunch, anytime he saw him in the halls, before or after school, he never gave up trying to get Changmin's attention.
"What do you want from me, Yoochun-sshi?" Changmin had finally asked one day at lunch when Yoochun continued to speak about nonsense to try and get Changmin's attention. He remembered the shocked look on Yoochun's face, surprised he had spoken to him.
"I want to be friends of course, Changmin-ah."
Min could picture Yoochun's younger happy expression perfectly. It was the first smile he felt was actually for him.
"Chunnie, I know you are trying to help, but I'm not ready for this."
"Dammit Changmin, you really have got to move on. You need to realize Yunho isn't just going to come skipping back to you with his arms wide open. He left you. He fucking just got up one day and left you. It has been 6 months Minnie... I know it's hard for you but you need to face the facts." Yoochun pleaded for his friend to realize the truth in his words.
He walked over to Changmin and put his hands on his shoulders, making his friend make eye contact. Changmin looked at him, his eyes filled with painful memories of his past lover. Yoochun was ready for that to change, he wanted Min to be happy. He tightened his grip on his shoulders.
"Open it."
Changmin's eyes went wide, then he took a deep breath and walked over toward the over sized box. He paused and looked back to his Hyung.
"I'm afraid to see it...does it really look real? I mean how advanced has technology become for something like this to be so life-like?" Min leaned down next to the box, his hand on one of the metal latches, hesitant to flip it open. Yoochun noticed and decided to do it for him.
"You'd be surprised. Besides, tons of people buy these nowadays. It is pretty common. Don't be afraid Minnie, I told them to pick out the best looking one because my friend desperately needed it." Yoochun grinned, flipping up the other latch.
"Yah! Thanks for making me sound desperate, asshole." Changmin punched Yoochun's forearm, only receiving a bigger grin from his friend. They both stood up and Yoochun swung the lid of the box open, finally revealing Changmin's 'item'.
There was a gasp from both of their lips. Changmin literally forgot how to breathe.
"Holy shit. Min, I definitely think they picked out the best looking one. It...He is fucking perfect." Yoochun exclaimed, but Changmin didn't hear him, he was too focused, too mesmerized on what laid in the box.
It was a man, or what looked like man. It was a robot, an artificial intelligence actually, so more advanced than a normal robot. But if Changmin didn't know any better, it looked as if a man had fallen asleep in this box on accident. A beautiful, flawless man. Changmin thought if he ever saw an angel, this would have to be a perfect example of what it would look like.
He knelled down closer to the figure. It's skin was pale and milky smooth. It almost seemed to glow, but Changmin thought maybe it was because it was a machine. But it's shimmering skin brought out it's full, pink lips. Min had the urge to rub his finger against the plump surface. His nose was small and angled slightly down, his cheek bones were sharp and his hair was a deep brown, cut to shape his face almost too perfectly.
Changmin reached down and touched it's cheek, gasping, finally remembering to breathe. It was so warm.
"So what do you think?" Yoochun questioned excitedly, almost jumping up and down when he noticed how entranced Min was with his 'item'. Changmin finally tore his gaze away from the figure, but only for a moment.
"He's...it's beautiful. He looks so real...peaceful even." Changmin's eyes trailed down to the figure's body, noticing it's toned arms. Hell, he noticed that it's whole body was toned to perfection. He had to do a double take when he saw the size of his member. He also acknowledged it's nipple piercing. He looked back to his-its- face, suddenly yearning to see it open its eyes.
"Chun, how do we turn him on?" Min asked, briefly glancing at his friend again. "Does he come with directions or something?" He almost felt like that was an odd question to ask, a man coming with instructions. A man that he had bought. Changmin mentally kicked himself for buying a such a thing in the first place. Damn Yoochun. He almost had the urge to pack the figure back up and give it to his damned hyung. Almost.
"Aha!" Yoochun pulled the manual out that was tucked in the side of the box under the wrapping. He flipped through a few pages, his eyes scanned over them, looking for the answer to Min's question. "It says there is a small button located on the back of his right ear. In order to boot him up, you need to hold it down for 5 seconds."
Changmin nodded in response, his hand beginning to hover over the figure's face. A few seconds went by and Changmin moved his hand to grip the side of the box instead. Yoochun looked at him and could see he was contemplating something.
"What's the matter?" He finally asked. He was eager to see the a.i. open his eyes too. Changmin looked at him with uncertainty in his eyes.
"Actually Chun, do you think i could do this...alone?" Min stuttered. His hyung gave him a questionable look, making his face turn a light shade of pink. "Yah! Don't look at me like that! I just think because this will be our first meeting and all...we should be alone. This will take me a while to get used to anyways." Changmin spat out quickly, his face now a shade darker. Yoochun chuckled at his friends bashfulness. He could tell how nervous Min was about the entire situation.
"Of course Minnie. Just let me know how everything goes. I'll come by tomorrow to check on you two~!" Yoochun winked at him as he began to gather his things. Changmin reached for a pillow on his couch and threw it, aiming at his friend. Yoochun dodged it and ran out the door laughing.
Aish that Yoochun.
Changmin sighed. He was alone. Alone with this... he really couldn't decide to call it. A man? A figure? A Mangure? He ran his hands through his hair nervously. Well even if it was a machine, it still was built for the sole purpose to be like a real man. He glanced back down at the robot. Was he ready for this? For the past 3 years the only person he had ever loved had been Yunho. Yunho, who was a real, live breathing being. Min couldn't see how it was possible to have feelings for a machine. But this is just supposed to help you get over Yunho, and find a new, better guy. Yoochun's words echoed in his head.
His hyung was right. This was meant to help him. Come on, you can do this, Changmin! He knelt beside the man again, this time lifting him up slightly, his hand supporting his back. He was still a bit shocked at how warm he was. Machines are supposed to be cold. But the more he stared at the figure, the more he felt like it was an angel than a machine. Changmin allowed himself to brush his hand across it's cheek, amazed at how smooth it was.
"Wow, he really is flawless." he spoke aloud as he ran his fingers through it's silky, dark hair. He reached behind it's ear and felt the activation button with his index finger. He took a deep breath. No turning back now.
He squeezed his eyes shut and pushed it.
A few moments went by and nothing happened. He opened his eyes to see the figure was still lying there with the same peaceful face of slumber. Min poked it's cheek but there was no reaction. Is he broken? He laid the machine back down and began to skim throught the manual Yoochun had left on the floor.
"Let's see.. push the activation button to activate." Did that. " Call the product by his or her given name." Oh. Well I guess that makes sense. "This product's name is, Jaejoong." The moment that name passed his lips, a sound similar to the start up of a computer filled the room. He snapped his head up to look at 'Jaejoong', who was slowly beginning to twitch to life.
After a short time, Jaejoong opened his eyes. Changmin could only gawk at the now fully awake man. His eyes were large and black, like a doe. Jaejoong stared straight in front of himself for a few minutes, his eyes glazed over. Changmin could only guess he was doing a system check of some sort, to see if everything was functioning properly. He patiently waited and was a bit shocked when two arms snaked around his neck, pulling him into a hug.
Jaejoong had finally acknowledge his presence. He looked at the figure's eyes, noticing how full of life they looked. It was scary how real they seemed. Jaejoong sat up and literally jumped into Changmin's lap. He leaned close to his ear and whispered in the most angelic voice Changmin has ever heard,
"Nice to meet you, Master."
