Currently, Raw is actually in the best shape its been in in quite some time. There are some legitimately entertaining storylines unfolding at the moment, with Kane going all psychotic again and stalking Kelly Kelly, and Shawn Michaels biting his pride and allying himself with JBL so that he can better support his family during the economic crisis, much to the chagrin of HBK's fanbase. Jericho is once again in the title picture, and Randy Orton has formed a new heel faction. Best of all, there's actually a semblance of prestige in the Intercontinental and Tag Team championships now; we haven't been able to say that in years. It's good stuff all around.
Smackdown is the brand that is currently suffering, with only one real storyline unfolding outside of the title picture that I can think of (MVP's losing streak). Combine that with a lack of credible main event talent (SD has Taker, Big Show, HHH, Edge, and now Hardy I guess, where Raw has Orton, Jericho, Cena, Mysterio, Batista, Michaels, and JBL) and you have a show that is blatantly behind Raw in quality. Not surprising though, as they've always made Raw their "A" show...
