The ice in his snifter glass shifted as it melted. He looked down at the glass, and in turn looked back on the last few years of his life.
The ice was melting, desolving the high quality liquier into a watery substance that was nearly tasteless.

He watched the descentigration of his $7 drink like he had watched his life.

He saw the melting and transformation from what was once something pure to a something of utter disgrace.

He saw the watery mixture infront of him as what his life had now become. Diluted, inpure, a joke to even call this a drink after what it had cost. A joke to say his life had meaning ESPECIALLY after the cost. Oh the cost had been high. Higher than any bottle, than any bar tab. No, his cost was of things far greater than monetary means...
"Last call folks. You don't have to go home but you can't stay here.
The bartender's shout had snapped Keith to. Realizing that he had sat there for 2 hours stareing at the same gin and tonic for those 2 hours.
The barkeep stroll over to him, carrying several clean pint glasses with him.
"Jesus keith, you gonna drink that or play footsies with it?"
Keith just looked up, removed $20 from his pocket, and slid both the drink and twenty closer to the bartender.
"Nope, tonight i was happy just playin footsies with it."
