I leave for Mexico early tomorrow morning. We're going on a mission to Piedros Negros for a week to do work in an orphanage. At our last meeting before the trip, a missionary in close contact with the orphanage said, in heavily accented English, "What we need, most of all, is adults to love our children. If any of you like to give hugs, this will be perfect for you, perfect for the children."
I sat there smiling. Not only have I wanted to go to Mexico since I was young, but I am the Hug Champion. Cooped up in my apartment the past few days with a bad cold, I've been practicing my Spanish by asking Turtle questions like, "Donde esta el bano?" "Como se llama?" "Cuantos anos tienes?" and watching cheesy game shows on Telemundo.
How ready I am.
And, I ended up with a 4.0 my first quarter in graduate school! How lucky I am.
Look at the stars,
see how they shine for you.
