Usually, the term applies to wild horses which have been tamed.

Here's another take [adapted from an email to Math's mom, my XSO Linda]:

I'm home on blood thinners.

A pulmonary embolism is a blood clot to the lungs.

A saddle embolism has two heads; id est, looks like a saddle.

Oh, I forgot the burning truck with the large propane tank in the flatbed. That was a sight! Like a 12-foot high Bunsen burner.

Of course, the idiots would have let it combust without alerting the people in the apartment building against which it was parked. I was able to evacuate everyone after calling the fire department from the first tenant that answered to my knocking.

Geez, sometime I should record my adventures.

You know Jim you always were ready when duty called, and I was a better person because of your being there when the mission was calling, but swimming in that glacial pool took more than was needed to complete the mission. things sure get littler when they get cold. hahaha hhh.

Better health to you

I left out the reason we found the glacial run-off pool in the moraine, Henry.

After I beat everyone running up the side of the mountain to the base of Svartisen [the other guys in the unit wanted to know if there were mountain goats in my ancestry -- I was 30 at the time] and spent some time exploring when you joined me, before we started down for the lunch buffet at the ski lodge, I paused to eliminate my bladder.

That's when the glacier began groaning, flexing, and flaking ice shards around us and you were in a hurry to expedite an exit. :>)

The water was so blue from dissolved minerals that it was colder than the freezing point.

One need only reference George on Seinfeld to understand "shrinkage". But, hey, I'm used to that, being Irish and all ( ... )
