Yes, once a week I'm going to be posting adoptable small animals and birds I know from MSPCA Angell shelter in JP. I want to raise awareness that you don't need to go buy a small furry or feathered pet, there are a lot who've been surrendered to the MSPCA and are available for adoption!
NOTE: I don't want to pressure anyone who is full up on pets to get another, and I definitely don't want anyone to take on a pet they cannot commit to. Disclaimers done, on to the cuteness!
Behold Willard!
Willard! See that cute, puzzled face? He's a sweetie pie of a rat, and anyone considering a rat as a pet should totally go to MSPCA Angell and meet him. Also, he loves kale.
In the market for more rat? Have I got a deal for you!
Pippi, Cordelia, Sunny, and Strawberry!. Four curious white rats used for psychology experiments by a student and then surrendered to the MSPCA because the student was finished with them. I'd like to have a few words with the school that doesn't teach it's students that they owe a lifetime of care to the animals they experiment on. These rats lived their first 6 months in boring lab cages, and are having a fabulous time finding out about things like toys, hiding tubes, sunflower seeds, and carrots. It's wonderful to watch them discover new things. They are super, super gentle and polite thanks to being lab rats.
