Okay...so I've been thinking about transferring colleges - from Portland State University to University of Hawaii at Manoa. I'm from Portland and that's where my family is, but my friends are all over.

What would you do? I'm not sure if that's enough info, but if you want more just ask.

Well, speaking as a teacher, which school offers the best courses for your major? Which one has a higher accreditation rating? Which one has a higher success rate for graduates getting jobs? What year are you in?

What do you mean by "higher accreditation rating? Umm...I believe, for what I want to do, UHM has the better courses. I am a first year post-bacc (second BA degree) student. I'm not sure which has the higher success rate for graduates getting jobs - I'll look into that.

Here is why accreditation is so important for universities.

I'm sorry, I do know and understand what accreditation is; I just didn't know what you meant by "higher accreditation rating".

I went to Florida Southern and it has a decent accreditation rating but someplace like Yale or Princeton or Harvard is going to be better. At places like those, the staff is more experienced and diversified and so is the range of majors. You can do Pre-Med at Yale but not Florida Southern. FS offers business courses but not on a par with Harvard. That's what I meant about the accreditation rating. I probably should have kept my mouth shut. ;)

Haha. No, it's totally fine. I just didn't understand what you meant. I now understand what you meant, and I believe both schools are about the same. So, it's probably all a matter of what I want to do. LOL. That does not make anything easier...I guess I just have to figure out what I really want/what's best for me.
