Seriously, I don't even want to explain last night because I was such a mess. Not like emotional or anything . . . just a mess. Damn. Good time though.
But before the mess that was Jade happened, my mom called me last night around 10 to tell me that Madison was attacked by the neighbor's pit bull. She's fine, except for below one of her knees its all "raw meat", as my mom put it, and above one of her elbows its all scratched and open wounded and shit . . .
Who the fuck has a PIT BULL. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE OWNERS ALSO HAVE TWO TODDLERS. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE? If I were there I probably would have shot that dog in the head and kicked the owner's ass. Tom was going to take the dog out with his shot gun, but my mom said no because that rules out part of the investigation . . . but the dog will be quarantined for a week and put down. Good, that thing doesn't need to be living as far as I'm concerned. No one or thing can fuck with Madison like that. Ever.
It's so odd though because I was attacked by a dog when I was around her age . . . very weird.
On to happier things, now.
Plans for the summer go as follows [concert-wise at least]:
> May 2, 2008 -- the Hard Lessons -- Chicago, IL [Subterranean]
> May 16, 2008 -- OK FUCKING GO -- Chicago, IL [Columbia College . . . FREE FOR ME]
> May 23, 2008 -- the Ivorys -- Chicago, IL [Reggie's]
> June 8, 2008 -- the Raconteurs/the Black Lips -- Detroit, MI [the Fillmore]
> July 26, 2008 -- the Ivorys (and others) -- Sandusky, MI [the Beacon]
> August 1-3, 2008 -- LOLLAPALOOZA -- Chicago, IL [duh]
> August 9, 2008 -- the Redwalls -- Chicago, IL [West Fest]
More will come, I'm sure of this. More Ivorys concerts, definitely. They're having an EP release show sometime in July before they head out on tour. Which, by the way, is going to consume most of my time for the last two weeks of May. I'm doing their photo shoot for the album, postering Chicago for the Reggie's show, Getting them promoted on Campus . . . I'm going to be so busy. And it all has to be in by June 1, which I'll be home that day seeing Stephanie graduate. So, before June 1 then. The end of May is going to be crazy for me, but I'm excited about it.
Also, Katie and Dan are visiting me the day after Manifest. I miss them tons, so this will be gooooood.
All right, I need to be productive. Later, kids.
