what i love about the academy

what i love about the academy is that no matter where you are, as long as you are together you feel comfortable.

nadia, dave, and i went out today for ice cream and even though we were in a different environment than the three of us are used to (not madame frank's 12th grade french class), it was just as if nothing has changed in this year and a half since graduation. one of the things we talked about was comfort, and we all decided that we feel more comfortable around "academy kids" than anyone else.

comfort is relative, as dave describes. everybody has many different aspects of their personality, each of which is "highlighted" in different situations. but just because you spend more of your life highlighting certain aspects, does that mean that those depict the "real" you better? or is it just that you would feel that way because you are more used to showing that side of you? either way, it is easier to feel comfortable when you are around the people you grew up with, the people who really helped to mold you into who you are today.

in conclusion, it was a good day, and i look forward to more good days in the future.
