Okay, so on Saturday,
crazy_texxx and I decide to go out to the pool and catch some much-needed rays. By the way, it was hot -- damn hot! There were a couple of other people there, but everyone was spread out as there's plenty of room all the way around the large pool. We set up camp at one end near the side we came in. We were right next to one of the 2-3 tables spread around the place, all with umbrellas to provide shade.
We had been there for a while, CT was in the pool and I was stretched out on a lounge, with my back to the table. Suddenly, I hear these two girls behind me talking. The next thing I know, I hear the scrape of the table being moved back and they are talking about arranging chairs and I was only half listening really as they chattered away. I look up and catch CT's eye in the pool, giving him a WTF look and he just shrugged. More talking behind me then I hear the sound of scotch tape being torn and they are talking (loudly) about where to put signs, etc. Finally, I sat up and turned around to see what was going on. And sure enough, there are these two 20-somethings right behind me taping signs and streamers to this table. Mind you, this has all happened without them saying one word to me. I looked at CT and motioned for him to come over, while I got up and started grabbing our stuff. We moved everything to the other end of the pool and got re-situated. Note that there was another table on this side, which had no one anywhere near it... Our new spot was near the other entrance, which these girls both went passed us in and out a couple of times. Neither of them said anything to us at all, not one word! The only way they acknowledged out existence was CT said when they first came over to the table they were looking at me (behind my back) in a very annoyed fashion as in I was in their way and how were they going to deal with or work around me.
You know, the sad thing (for them) is that all they had to do was show these little things called manners, class and respect. If they had come up and said they were planning a get-together and needed the table if we wouldn't mind moving... I would've probably not minded a bit. But instead to be so completely rude, then not even offer a hint of apology? I was angry on Saturday, now I only feel pity that they were brought up to be that way. Tacky!
