Wow, so much to say and so little time to say it, or read it, or do much else.
I keep saying I'll come back to LJ and post more and instead I am failing miserably. Rather than make a long lame family and general news post, I'll be up front, candid and to the point. Time has been less and less available. When I have had it, I'm pretty much brain-fried and unable to write much of anything sensible. Part of it has been work (all three of the places). Part has been the on-going issues with my wife's health. Part has been stress from bills and such.
Today we officially closed our sewing machine store. For those out of the loop or not catching the story on FaceBook, we bought the dealership from BERNINA USA in April. Unfortunately, due to miscommunication, lack of available (customer) financing and poor sales, back in August, I started looking hard at whether we really could keep it going. At the end of that month, we made the decision to shut it down and negotiate terminating our contracts. We've managed to end the business contracts with BERNINA, our suppliers and our hosts at Hancock Fabrics successfully. We've also brought home most of the fixtures and furniture.
I've been shooting right, left and in all directions lately. Had a couple commercial shoots and several shows. The new camera is giving me all sorts of new options and control over my photography. I have however been lax about posting much of anything here. That being said, I've nearly abandoned photobucket as a hosting site. It's become cumbersome to use and is too censored for all of my work. That said, I'm going to try to upload several sets of abandoned site stuff to the new LJ Gallery and work from there. Yes, I have still been exploring and shooting, just not able to to spend hours to load, copy URLs, organize notes and yeah... you get the idea.
Took Chris to DragonCon at the beginning of the month. Many of those pics are uploaded to FB. Saw several incredible shows including Voltaire, Ego Likeness, This Way to the Egress, The Aeronauts, and The Extraordinary Contraptions.
