Chapter 1

It was a typical freezing cold December morning and as per-usual during the holiday season in England their was not a flake of snow on the ground. Sian stirred in her sleep as the morning chill flooded her body. Her eyes squinted open as she looked at the clock; 6:45am. Sian sighed as she rolled onto her other side and swung her arm out, expecting to feel a warm body next to her but instead all she felt were cold bed sheets. Sian groaned, she was not happy to be waking up alone, today of all days. Just as Sian was about to get up she heard the door opening and sat up to find the person she was expecting to be in bed with her, stood in the doorway carrying a breakfast tray.

"Hey you're awake" Sophie smiled at her girlfriend as she walked over to the bed and placed the tray on the nightstand.

"Way to state the obvious Soph" Sian giggled sleepily as she pulled herself up was sat leaning against the headrest, Sophie perched herself on the side of the bed. Sian leant in to kiss her but Sophie pressed a finger to her lips stopping her.

"not yet! close you're eyes" Sian sighed as she put her hands over her eyes "ok you can look now" Sian moved her hands and smiled at the sight in front of her.

"Merry Christmas babe" Sophie was sat wearing Antlers, a flashing rudolph nose and holding mistletoe in the air "ok now you can kiss me"

Sian didn't need telling twice as she cupped her girlfriends face and pulled her towards her. The kiss was slow and deep and Sophie forced herself to pull back before she got too lost in the moment.

"Merry Christmas Soph" Sian placed another quick kiss on Sophie's lips "why didn't you wake me?" Sophie picked up the breakfast tray and placed it on Sian's lap.

"You looked too peaceful and besides i wanted to get your breakfast ready, so eat up, we've got a big day ahead of us!" Sophie grinned as she spoke and Sian couldn't help but laugh at her girlfriends excitement, when it came to christmas, Sophie was like a 5 year old. Sophie leaned forward and kissed Sian on the forehead before going to leave the room again.

"Woah hey where are u going?" Sian asked slightly disappointed that Sophie was rushing out the room "come back to bed" Sophie shook her head and smiled at her girlfriend

"do you want you're presents or not?" Sian's smile grew wide at Sophie's words "that's what i thought, not eat your breakfast beautiful and i'll be back in a minute"

Sophie closed the door and disappeared from the room as Sian started to eat her breakfast. She laughed when she saw that Sophie being christmas crazy, had cut her toast into christmas trees and the jam was spread on them like decorations "could she be any cuter" Sian thought as she ate her toast.

It suddenly hit Sian what she was actually going to do today, havent momentarily pushed it to the back of her mind. A mix of excitement, nerves and fear suddenly washed over her. Today is the day she is going to ask Sophie to be her wife. The past few months had been quite difficult, planning the proposal, choosing the ring and most importantly, keeping it a secret from Sophie, Rosie had been a great help in that department.

Sian had never once in her life imagined that she could ever be this happy. Sure love wasn't always easy, especially when you were in love with a girl, there is always going to be some bigoted people with their prejudice views but Sian knew that as long as she had Sophie, she didn't care what anyone thought of them or her, she had gotten past that part of herself years ago. Sian was brought out of her mind by her phone vibrating. She looked at the screen 1 new message - Rosie.

To Sian: Merry Christmas my soon to be sister! everything is going as planned for tonight, I can't wait to see the ring! don't be nervous, everything will be fine, see you later at mum and dad's xxx<3

Sian laughed at the text before quickly writing a reply

To Rosie: Merry Christmas to you too and to Will and the kids! me and Soph will be at your mum and dad's for around 12, after church xxx<3

Just as Sian was putting her phone down, Sophie walked in carrying a red gift bag.

"Who was on the phone?" She asked as she walked over and sat on the edge of the bed

"oh no one, just a text from Rosie saying merry christmas" Sophie pretended to look offended at this news

"you get a text and i don't! the cheeky mare" both girls laughed at Sophie's favourite word to describe Rosie. Sian reached over the side of the bed and pulled out a key from the bedside table, using it to unlock her secret draw under the bed where she had hidden Sophie's christmas presents. Once she'd retrieved the bag both girls leaned in simultaneously and pressed their lips together softly. When they pulled away Sophie handed her gift bag to Sian.

"You first, merry christmas babe" Sian smiled and gave Sophie another quick peck on the lips before opening the bag. inside where 2 small parcels, one big envelope and a card. Sian picked up the card and opened it. On the front of the card their wasa picture of her and Sophie from the previous christmas. She smiled as she opened up the card and read its contents.

Sian,

I don't know how i got so lucky as to find someone as amazingly caring, funny and beautiful as you but i thank god every day that i did find you. I love you so much babe, i know i say it every day but it never feels like i tell you enough.

Merry Christmas

All my love forever and always

Sian had tears in her eyes as she read Sophie's words. She reached forward and entwined her fingers with Sophie's

"Sian how do you plan on opening your presents with one hand?" Sophie said giggling, Sian stuck her tongue out at her girlfriend before pulling her hand away so she could unwrap the first small present. Sian wripped off the wrapping paper to reveal a green jewellery box, Sian opened it to reveal a beautiful silver locket, Sian gasped as she lifted it up out of the box

"Sophie" she whispered as she twirled the locket in her hands "it's beautiful" Sian couldn't resist kissing Sophie and leaned forward pressing their lips together. Sophie pulled away and took the locket from her girlfriends hands.

"May I?" Sian didn't need to be asked twice and lifted up her long blonde hair as Sophie placed the locket round her neck "ok now the next one and hurry up i wanna open mine" she joked and Sian giggled at her girlfriend's impatience. She reached into the bag and pulled out the other small present. When Sian saw what was in this one, her eyes immediately welled up and she brought her hand over her mouth in complete shock.

Inside the second present was an antique silver charm bracelet, identical to one that her mum had. Sian's mum had passed away 5 years ago and had left her all her jewellery in her will. The charm bracelet was by far her favourite but it had been stolen when she and Sophie had gone travelling in Australia and Sian had been devestated

where did you get this?" Sian asked in complete shock as a tear slid down her face. Sophie leaned forward and wiped away the tear using the pad of her thumb.

"remember all those phone calls i was getting a few months ago?" Sian nodded "well they were from an antiques dealer in London, who managed to track it down for me, and i remembered the charms your mum had so i just bought new ones, and added a few of my own"

"This is the most amazing gift anyone has ever given me" Sian reached up and put her hand on Sophie's face "thank you" she said sincerely. Sophie kissed Sian on the forehead before reaching into the bag and holding out the envelope to her. Sian took it out of her girlfriend's hands and started to open it

"This is part of your birthday present as well ok"

"Okkkk, but Soph why would you give me my birthday present now it's not for 3...OH MY GOD SOPHIE" Sian screamed as she finally saw what was in the envelope and flung herself on top of Sophie kissing her passionately, before kissing her on every part of her face. Sophie laughed at Sian's reaction.

"so i take it you like it?" Sian scoffed at Sophie's statement and replied by kissing her again.

"I can't believe you did this Sophie, those tickets must have cost you a fortune!"

"well you Miss Powers are worth every penny, besides i know how much you've always wanted to go" Sian squealed in excitement before tightening her grip on Sophie as she hugged her tight

"New York,Soph, we are going to New York!" Sian quickly composed herself before handing her bag to Sophie "ok, your turn she said smiling as Sophie practically wripped the bag pulling it out of her hand. Sophie pulled out the first present and opened it. Inside was a silver bracelet with Sophie's birthstone, blue topaz. Her other presents included a matching necklace and earrings. Sophie was in the middle of thanking Sian for her presents when Sian stopped her "wait there is one more" Sian reached under the bed again and pulled out a big black leather book with their names engraved on the front. Sophie was a bit confused but as she opened it she was overwhelmed.

Inside the book were pictures of them from every occasion imaginable. From when they were just friends, to the music festival, their first anniversary, their first christmas, Baby Jack's christening, Rosie's wedding, you name it and it was in there. Sophie felt tears in her eyes as she reached the back of the book to find loads more blank pages with a note written on one of them, Sophie felt tears fall down her face as she read it.

Sian xxxx

Sophie couldn't believe the beauty of Sian's words as she put the book down and crashed their lips together. The kiss starting off slow but grew deeper and deeper, Sophie pulled away and rested their foreheads together.

"I love you" She whispered sincerely to Sian
"I love you too" Sian pressed another kiss to her lips
"What do you say we start making some more christmas memories" said Sophie, her voice dripping with lust and desire.

"Oh i think that can definitely be arranged!"
