4th of July Parade
I'm sorry to report that I was really disapointed with this event. There were several reasons for this as I'll quickly explain. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of me from the event.
First off, my costume. I did finish it but I need to make major modifications. First off the armbands, I had to take them off half way through the parade because they were damaging my shirt. I need to actually take the time and make them. The belt is what gave me the biggest problems. It fell apart during the parade. I really need to redo it. The shin guards turned out well but the velcro fell off so I had to safety pin the back. I also felt very big and uncomfortable in it.
I think the main reason I didn't enjoy this event was that I was sick. I caught something the night before and it lasted the rest of the day. I know this clouded my view of alot of things. I also didn't get alot of sleep since I was working on it til 2 in the morning.
Secondly, in the parade they split us up so I ended up riding by myself in a car. Now the car was awesome. It was a 1961 Corvette. So beautiful. Two toned red and white. It was a great ride and I was glad I didn't have to walk, espeically since everything was falling apart, but I didn't get to talk to any of my friends in the 501st and I think that is why I really felt disapointed.
Also, I was going to be in a boat parade but because I was not feeling well I ended up not going. I went home and crashed.
So I feel disapointed with this event. But hey, not all events can be great right? Next year I'll know what to expect. We're going to have a float next year and we're going to stay together.
