OMFG. One of the BEST days in my entire fucking life, slightly better than August 16, 2007, aka Pushing Daisies in a cemetery. I mean, that was an already free event. But this? No sir, was not. But HOLY FUCKING SHIT, ah, I just can't get over how awesome it was.
So here's the low down, my & my best friend (my Wilson, lolololz) spent the past couple of weeks talking about the Monsters vs Aliens LA premiere, which was held at the Gibson Amphitheatre, at City Walk. Our plan was to just hang out by the door & check out the arrivals, even though we probably wouldn't have seen the main cast members. So off we went this morning to City Walk & got parking, then wandered off towards the general direction of the Gibson Amphitheatre.
We stood there for a bit, making friends with the security guards & what not. Then I spied Peter Jacobson (Taub from House) walking in our direction to go to the premiere. I waited a bit until the crowd around him thinned out & I walked over to him with Steph & took a picture with him & got his autograph. Steph also saw someone from DWtS & all she could say was 'DANCING WITH THE STARS. DANCING WITH THE STARS.' XD So we stood off to the side again, taking pictures of people as they walked past, such as Kevin McKidd, Jonah Hill, & Judd Apatow.
One of the funniest parts of the day: Once again, I spied Jesse Spencer (Chase from House) walking towards the entrance with his girlfriend, so I told Steph to ask if we could take a picture with him. So she walks over to the guy walking IN FRONT of him, thinking it was him, & I was like no! That's not him! & I gestured to Mr. Spencer behind him with my head, like a Filipino person does lolz, & I looked back & I noticed he was looking straight at us (okay, in our general direction, whatevsss) & I started laughing my ass off. Sadly, he didn't stop for any pictures or autographs, but that's all good.
Anyway, we stood there for a bit, waiting for other peoples to show up, & then I heard this guy asking around if anyone wanted to watch the movie because they were giving out free tickets. Me & Steph were like FUCK YEAH, so we wandered off to where they were giving the tickets & BAM. Fucking AWESOME. We GOT IN. Which was the LAST thing we were expecting, we were just planning on people watching & such. So we walked in (after Steph constantly planned on sneaking in, haha) & got our B.O.B. foam finger(ish) things & the 3D glasses & walked along the BLUE CARPET & who did we walk right behind?
REESE WITHERSPOON.
Well, she was on the Blue Carpet & we walked behind her as press peoples took photos of her, but still. SIIIICK. I'm sure we walked past other cast members, but they kept herding us along like cattle (or sheep! lolz. Ewan McGregor. Anyone? Anyone?) so I didn't really pay attention. Who knows, I may have walked past Hugh Laurie without noticing it. D= Well anyway, we got inside the theatre & we got our seats (which were pretty fucking good, btw), we wandered around for a bit. I saw Jesse Spencer again, but I didn't have my camera on me & Steph saw her elusive Super Troopers cast member (once again, he walked past her without her saying anything) & we were both like DAMMIT!
Right then, so we went back inside because they were about to start the movie & Conrad Vernon (I believe it was. Either him or Rob Letterman) got on stage & introduced some of the cast members who were there - Amy Poehler, Seth Rogan, Will Arnett, Reese Witherspoon, Hugh Laurie, Paul Rudd, Rainn Wilson, & Kiefer Sutherland. Then Rainn got on the mic & said a few words to Reese & then they all sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her, it was awesome. I'm bummed, Hugh burst out in this awesome pose & I completely missed it cause my camera = FAILSAUCE TO THE MAX. But it was oh so cute & fun.
Anyway, the cast wandered off stage & I was so tempted to walk out & take a picture with some of them, but I wanted to watch the movie so badly & I'm glad I stayed because it's damn good. XD
Enough with that, after the movie, Steph finally got to take a picture with her DWtS guy & we were gonna take a picture with Paul Rudd, but either his PR person or his wife (we're not sure. His wife, methinks) told us that he wasn't gonna take a photo with anyone, we were like aww. But Steph was excited because she got to touch him, lolz.
All in all, damn good day. I'm bummed I didn't get to take a picture with Hugh, or at least get his autograph, but I still saw him regardless. Free movie, free MvA swag, & lots of damn good memories make up for it all. =]
