from the words of a wild oats employee: whole foods is actually a really good company. they basically have all the same values as wild oats, but tons more money to carry out projects and help the community and other communities around the world. pretttty amazing. so feel good about shopping there; you are helping thousands of women start small weaving businesses in guatemala, you are contributing funds to a program that makes sure animals that are destined for slaughter are treated in the absolute most humane way, and you are buying only foods that come from earth-friendly farms, all while buying your normal groceries. AND not feeding some big head a bunch of money; the president of the company gets paid one dollar a year.
