Title:  The Mirror of Truth

The Mirror of Truth is also known as The Mirror of Knowledge, of Wisdom,  of The Past, The Present and The Future. It has a lot of titles but it's all just one the same thing. Ask a question and the mirror shall answer you.

The Mirror was located in one of the rooms at the highest level of the old abandoned castle surrounded by large trees, thorn bushes and wild animals. Basically, it would be one heck of a challenge to try to get to the mirror. Some people gave up halfway, some died trying and some succeeded.

The people who managed to arrive in front of The Mirror were usually a group of 3-5 persons and sometimes it even reaches 10. It's rare for just one person to visit The Mirror. Those type of individuals really gave off a good impression to The Mirror because it just showed how skilled and talented they are to be able to arrive in front of The Mirror without anyone's help.

What really amazed The Mirror is that a young boy, who looked around 9-years-old, stood in front of him. The young boy was looking at The Mirror curiously. "Nah. It's probably just a rumor. There's no way a mirror could talk." He said to himself.

The Mirror stayed silent because he wasn't allowed to initiate a conversation. He was only allowed to answer a question, which he hoped it would lead to a decent conversation because he was lonely so he would really like to talk whenever he would have some visitors.

"This seems kinda silly but let's try talking. What's your name?" The young boy asked.

The Mirror was shock because he did not expect that kind of question. Nobody had ever asked him for his name. Nobody was curious about The Mirror. All of his visitors only wanted to know things that only involved with themselves. "Choi Siwon."

This time it was the younger boy who was shocked. He wasn't expecte for The Mirror to actually talk back. "Woah! You really do talk."

"Yes, I do. Is there anything else you'd like to ask?" The Mirror or rather Siwon asked. He never talked with a child before. The child really looked cute that Siwon wished he could use his hands and pinch those cheeks but then again, he's a mirror and he has no hands right now.

"Um... I really didn't come here to ask a question. I was just curious and wanted to see if you could really talk." The young boy smiled sheepishly while scratching the back of his head. "You can ask me a question if you want!!!"

The Mirror was surprised because he was used to answering questions and not throw questions. Besides, there was no need for him to question since he basically knows everything. "I don't know what to ask. I already know everything." Siwon said.

"Really? Then what's my name?"

"Lee Sungmin."

"How old am I?"

"Nine and shall be turning ten on the first day of the new year."

"Wow! You really do know everything!!! That's totally cool!!!" The young boy named Sungmin looked very happy. "Can I hire you as my tutor? I think you'll totally be a lot of help with my homework and those subjects that I really hate like Math!!!"

The Mirror felt himself growing fond towards the child. "I'd be happy to help."

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Since that day, The Mirror didn't feel lonely anymore. Sungmin visited him every afternoon from Mondays to Fridays. Then he would leave for dinner but there are times when he could come back to spend more time with Siwon before leaving again for bedtime. Sungmin usually spent his weekends with his family or friends. The Mirror would feel lonely during the weekends and wished for Monday to come by quickly.
The Mirror still got other visitors. Honestly, he was starting to hate his visitors especially when they had bad timing and made him spend less time with Sungmin. Most of his visitors were greedy and some were violent.

The Mirror would always know if his upcoming visitor was a bad type of person. During those times, he would ask Sungmin to go to another room and hide in a closet. Sungmin had always been a good kid and followed everything that The Mirror said. There was a loud crash. Sungmin went out of his hiding place and went back to the room where The Mirror was located. There were no visitors in sight and The Mirror was broken into pieces.

"Sungmin, stay away." The voice from the mirror sounds weak.

"What happened?" Sungmin began crying. "You're not going to die, are you?"

"No, I won't die so stop crying." Siwon wished he had hands to wipe those tears away.

"You're not just saying that to make me feel better, are you?" Sungmin sniffed.

"I'm The Mirror of Truth. I can't lie even if I want to."

Comforted by those words, Sungmin stopped crying. "So what am I suppose to do now? I can't just leave you all broken!!!"

"It's okay. The Fairy knows whenever I'm broken into pieces. She'll come to fix me up soon."

Sungmin's eyes widened. "You are friends with a fairy?!?!"

"No, I'm not really friends with him."

"But still!!!! You know a fairy!!! That's so cool!!!" Sungmin was happy once again.

"Not really."

Sungmin noticed the annoyed tone in The Mirror's voice. "Why not?"

"It's because of him that I became like this. I used to be a human but I was a bad person. I lied and stole a lot of things from people. One day, I lied and stole something from the Fairy so he punished me by putting my soul inside The Mirror and placed a Truth Spell on me."

"Is there a way for you to get out of the mirror?"

"Yes but I'm not allowed to tell anybody."

"Do you really want to get Siwon out of The Mirror?" The voice had a female tone but definitely belong to a male Fairy.

Sungmin turned around and saw a beautiful fairy. "Yes. I think he suffered and repented for a long time."

"Well, I think he hadn't suffered enough yet." It was a bitchy tone that didn't match the fairy's beautiful face.

"You're a mean fairy!!! I bet you're a witch pretending to be a fairy!!!" Sungmin accused the fairy.

The Fairy looked appalled which later turned into anger. "Do you want to be punished, young child?"

"Don't punish him. He didn't do anything wrong." Siwon defended his young friend.

"He insulted my beauty!!!" The Fairy retorted. "He called me a witch!!! Witches are ugly bitches!!!"

"Please mind your language, Heechul. You're in front of a kid." Siwon said in a reprimanding tone.

"Yeah, a kid who just called me a witch." Heechul said bitterly. He sprinkled some fairy dust and the broken pieces of mirror on the floor disappeared.

"What did you do to Siwon?!?!" Sungmin asked in alarmed.

"Taking him away from you." The Fairy vanished with a thin white smoke leaving some fairy dust.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Ten years passed by, Sungmin is in his late teenage year. Whenever he thought about his childhood memories about The Mirror, he wondered if he really did happen and if wasn't just his imagination being too creative.

When The Mirror disappered, Sungmin didn't stop visiting the old abandoned castle and kept hoping for The Mirror to appear again until his family decided to move in another country. Being in a different country and being away from the old abandoned castle made Sungmin stop thinking about The Mirror.

Then his grandmother died which made his family return to Korea after all these years. After the funeral, Sungmin's family decided to stay longer for a few more days. With hazy memories, Sungmin decided to visit the old abandoned castle only to find out that it still looked old but no longer abandoned.

"May I help you?"

Sungmin thought he met a prince because the guy certainly had a very handsome face but only wore casual clothes so Sungmin decided to think realistically. "Are you... living here?"

"Yes. I hope you're not one of those people who kept on looking for an old abandoned castle that has The Mirror of Truth or Knowledge or whatever because it doesn't exist. Those are just rumors and I've been living here for a long time already." The owner smiled.

Sungmin frowned. "You're lying. The Fairy is going to punish you again if you keep on lying."

The owner looked surprised at what Sungmin said. "How do you know..."

The frown on Sungmin's face turned into a smile. "I recognized your voice, Siwon. Don't you recognize me?"

Siwon stared at Sungmin's face for a long time. "Sungmin?" He said hesitantly as his hand reached out to touch Sungmin's cheek. Sungmin lost his chubby cheeks but he still looked cute to Siwon. "You've changed a lot. I'm sorry I didn't recognize you right away."

"That's okay. I'm just glad that you're safe and human again." Sungmin said and reached out to place a hand on Siwon's shoulder to make sure that Siwon was really real.

"Do you still need some tutoring?" Siwon asked teasingly.

"No." Sungmin laughed. "But I do need your cellphone number and email adress. I'd like for us to keep on contact."

"I'll give those to you in a while. For now, come in and have some tea with me. We have a lot of catching up to do." Siwon opened his door wider.

Sungmin stepped inside feeling a sense of familiarity but the difference is... he's 19-years-old now and The Mirror was no longer a mirror but a human named Choi Siwon.

THE END

A/N: At first, I wanted it to have it in romance but now, I think it'll be weird for Siwon and Sungmin to suddenly end up together so I ended this fic with them just being friends~ or it could be the start of something else XD;; I lost some ideas halfway so it took longer to finish. I'm not very satisfied with this X_X but I hope you enjoyed reading it? Comments please!!!
