So, I got Take That's new album. It's still too early to say if I love it, but one thing: Not only has their music matured (obviously), they're big on acoustics. Certainly, you can't expect the old pervy, dance songs. :D

Oh, and, DAMN, Jason has a very nice voice. I feel sad that it was kinda wasted all those years. ;_;

Two reasons why I'm not active in the J-Rock fandom: jrock_wank and jrocksecret. Talk about drama-lama.

I have a question, though: Why are the most insane fandoms Gackt's and Dir en Grey's? What is with them that makes their fans go nutso? Perhaps Gackt's Magnum-sized (:P) non-Japanese fandom is the culprit, but what about Dir en Grey? Sure, the non-Japanese fandom is huge, but I don't think it's as huge as, oh, L'Arc~en~Ciel. And yet we Laruku fans are surprisingly one of the least wanky J-Rock fans. Do DeG's latest songs really cause their fans to go apeshit?

If this is the case, I'm not really surprised. What, when you have song titles such as "Agitated Screams of Maggots" coming from the band (Yes, original English. Having heard the song, that title isn't too far off from the song itself. I think Kyo IS imitating the screams of maggots; specifically, someone with maggots eating through their throats). Makes you wonder if they're really exercising their artistic license or they're just in it for the shock factor. I tend to believe in the latter.

My ears aren't used to death metal and, really, I prefer DeG during their indies days. Not that I'm complaining of the route they chose. They're free to choose what kind of genre they want to settle into. It's just that you really can't expect me to listen to them these days. I like some metal to practise my headbanging rights, but I'd actually love it to have some kind of melody, you know. ;P

blahberry, drama drama oh the drama
