It's not a very well kept secret in some circles that about 5 months ago I began working on JipangMUCK, NuJipang, Jipang 3.0, whatever people want to call it. MotM had died down significantly and hadn't shown signs of picking up since and I'd been mulling the idea of making one last game from scratch for a while now. ProtoMUCK tech has come a long

And it's okay if you weren't on the original game. All things considered, in order for this game to be successful, it will need to attract a lot of people that were never on the old Jipang, given that most of those players are probably not RPing much anymore, haha.
I'm getting a sense from the posts so far that people are interested in political intrigue as a whole, so I can definitely make sure that the setting framework accommodates that.
Your thoughts on limited-consent are interesting. I've always struggled with the consent issue, because I'm also a player that prefers 'limited-consent' for the sake of giving people room to build suspense and work intrigue behind my character's back as well as in secret from me /OOCly/, so that it can be a legitimate surprise. On the other hand, I've often seen so much drama erupt over consent issues, 'Full Consent' has always seemed like a necessary evil for the sake of everyone getting along and avoiding messy retcons when someone finally pitches a fit.
It's not a policy issue that I can say I've decided on one way or another. By default, I'd be going with the standard Full Consent policy I've seen at all the games I've played at in the last 10 years or so, but I'm really interested in learning more about limited-consent polices that you've seen work. Are there any website info files or in-game info files that you could point me to that describe a limited consent policy that you've felt worked really well? I'd definitely like to see how such things are worded.
As far as canon storylines go... for the most part, FCs will be starting out fairly early in their respective narratives, so most of them probably won't receive a lot of 'narrative credit' for free. There might be a few exceptions here and there, but I'll keep your thoughts in mind.
I'm not familiar with +view for MUSH. If you or someone else can bring me up to speed on what that is, I'll be happy to see if I can get support for it into the game.
Thanks again for sharing your thoughts!
