I was just thinking about this the other day..What is the essence of a relationship?
Is it about:
a) Finding someone who cares for you and pleases you all the time,
b) Someone who you feel comfortable with,
c) Someone who makes you happy, or
d) Simply just someone you love and want to be with?
Okay, if this MCQ question were to be asked in an exam, and i have to choose only one answer, i might just leave it blank.
Because my answer would be "All of the above".
But what if say, you have to choose only one?
Because if you find someone who cares for you, does everything for you, pleases all your needs and wants; it does not necessarily means you are comfortable with him, he makes you happy, or even that he is the person you love and truly want to be with. (Meaning this person only fulfills a, but not b, c and d)
Put it the other way round..If there was someone that you really love and want to be with, but this person might not care for you as much, or please everything you say, and does not make you happy.. (Meaning only d is being fulfilled and not a, b and c)
If you are going to ask me why the hell am i making things so complicated; I will tell you because life's like that! Life isn't perfect and you don't always get everything you want :)
I have been in both types of relationships mentioned above. And yes, it obviously feels secure to have someone care for you more than you do, pleases you in every way.. besides, every girl likes to be treated as a princess, no? You will eventually be comfortable with this guy, because all it takes is time. You don't mind being with him because he hardly goes against you and he tries every way to make you happy.. BUT, the question is, are you really happy with him? Do you truly want him? Put it this way, would you love him as much if he stops caring and pleasing you?
And then later on.. i realized how different it is to truly love and want someone. Maybe you will ask, how'd you know? 'Instinct'. And then you will find yourself being more patient, having higher tolerance, putting in effort, and accepting a whole lotta shit you never knew you could or would...
