Ficathons
In an effort to give myself a metaphorical kick up the behind, and finish one of my WIPs or plot bunnies, I decided to sign up for the finish-a-thon at
multific.
It's my first 'ficathon' and it appealed to me because there are no winners and losers, per se. It's just a vote on what story you'd like each author to finish/write. Then, everyone starts writing (or scowling at the computer screen, depends on the day) and two months later each writer hands in a finished story (or 10,000 words). Simple as that!
Voting is now on, and they are over forty participants, my poll is here but have a look around. There is just about every fandom you can think of, and of every flavour. My favourite find, so far, is
jedibuttercup's WIP, Uncle John, a Buffy/SGA crossover.
Edited to add: When I followed the link to the 'Wraithbait' archive, I had a little look around and found this little gem, Crooked Paths , by
themonkeycabal. A hilarious story in which Rodney (SGA) is stranded on a strange planet and bumps into John Crichton (Farscape), who happens to be an old school rival of his! Lots of fun.
