Dollhouse - no spoilers in the post, but I can't vouch for the comments.

So, after the finale of Dollhouse, I find myself wondering when, exactly, did I change my mind about this series... oh, don't get me wrong, I still think Echo was the most boring protagonist known to science fiction, but once I was allowed to view her as merely the hook that all the other characters hang on - which is what happened in season two - this becomes a whole different show.

So I guess I just answered my own question, I started liking Dollhouse when it became an ensemble show - and what an ensemble! The actor who played Victor especially deserves kudos, for pulling off what Dushku plainly could not - picking up and shedding various personalities convincingly!

A curse upon the producers who insisted on all those baddies of the week episodes we were subjected to in season one [along with the icky sexist subtext, with no over all larger context to throw it into relief.] The more nuanced storylines and the season plot arc of season two were much more to my tastes. So much so, I found myself changing my mind and actually liking this show after throwing in the towel in season one. I think it's the first time that has ever happened to me. Once I dislike a show, it takes a lot to change my mind. Thankfully, the combination of a good review on my flist, and a night of nothing else on, convinced me to give it another shot, and I rediscovered my love of Whedon. This is the guy RTD wishes he was, but fails miserably - layers, dude, layers. Not everything needs a neon sign.

Dollhouse, I shall miss you, who'd have guessed?
