My commission for my OC Quebec (the blond) and New York state (glasses). Quebec is New York`s biggest trading partner. They applied to host an Olympic games together. I`m a dork and took this, among other things, in a slashy manner.

Summary: Cuckhold - America and Canada keep a couple of secrets from England.
Sovereign - Quebec is getting antsy for independence. Again.
Canada cast a long look at the toddler, with his grey-green eyes and dark brown hair. The boy was already tall for his age, despite the fact he still wobbled when he stood. That serious expression on the toddler`s face certainly wasn`t inherited from the nation that bore him - even as a child America had rushed after things as soon as he decided they were interesting. He`d never studied them as if trying to decide how much he could get for it on the market, as New York appeared to be doing.
“He`s not England`s at all, is he?” Canada announced, narrowing his eyes at his brother. America hushed him and gathered his son close, looking about as if England might have been in the next room instead of off in London. None of the other children paid them the least bit of mind, far more preoccupied with playing with each other.
America scowled back at his brother. “Why would you say something like that?”
But the tone of his voice and the expression in his eyes conveyed very different messages. `Of course he`s not,` his eyes said, `-and if you so much as dream of breathing a word of that to England, I swear to God I`ll scalp every settler north of Lake Erie.`
Then he looked pointedly at the little boy leaning out the window, only a year older than his cousin to the south. Canada resisted the urge to grab his son and hug him close to hide the boy`s wavy golden hair and mischievous grin. He swallowed hard, not trusting his voice. America`s eyes softened at the sight.
“You know,” he began, and Canada heard the peace offering in his voice, “-he looks a lot like me. My hair gets curly like that when it gets too long too.” He barked out a short laugh. “But we are brothers, so it`s not surprising.”
Canada`s lungs started working properly again. He`d let Quebec`s hair grow like his own, but America was right. If they cut it, he would look an awful lot like America. He looked at New York again. “His eyes are a nice shade of green,” he offered at last. America smiled, apparently satisfied with that.
Neither of them, it seemed, was going to say a thing to England and, if he was too dense to notice, that was his problem.
Notes: Quebec`s father is obviously France and New York`s is Netherlands. See the resemblance?
New York folded up the newspaper and tossed it to the side, clearly disgruntled. “Not this again.”
Quebec glared at his lover. “Not what again?” he demanded angrily. “My rights? I thought you states would be all over those!”
“You don`t want your rights,” New York argued back. “You want to be independent!”
“And what`s wrong with that?” Quebec shouted. “Why shouldn`t I be a sovereign state?” His tone dropped, becoming softer. “Why shouldn`t any of us be? You could be too, you know. You`re strong enough, and I - You know I`d support you.” He swallowed. “We could support each other, as full nations. Our own special relationship.”
New York`s back stiffened. “We have that now. Anyways, states can`t sign official treaties with nations, and I won`t leave America. I told you that before. I`m committed to the union.”
He turned, scooping up his jacket from the chair back where he`d thrown it and slinging it over his shoulder. “You shouldn`t even need to ask me,” he added, heading for the door without glancing back.
Quebec caught up with him just in front of the door, wrapping his arms tightly around the state`s waist to stop him. New York halted, his hand mere inches from the doorknob, and sighed.
“Look,” he said, lifting his eyes to the ceiling. “If you really think it`s better for you to be independent, then… That`s your choice. But you can`t ask me to abandon the union.” His words caught in his throat. “Not after I - we fought so hard for it.”
“I know,” Quebec answered softly, kissing the back of his neck. New York shuddered, and waited for him to continue. “I`m sorry,” Quebec continued at last. “Not about what I said about Canada, but for taking it out on you. Ontario`s just been a brat about everything, so I`ve been wound up constantly.” He chuckled. “I suspect you have an idea what that`s like, what with how Texas has been lately.”
New York snorted, the tightness in his frame starting to melt away. “Texas is too damn big for his britches. Always has been. Thinking he knows what`s right for the rest of us…”
“Ohoho,” Quebec chuckled softly, sounding far too much like his father for New York`s tastes. The state found himself spun around, and glared down into eyes much like France`s, save for the touch of violet in them.
“You know who else that sounds like?” Quebec continued teasingly, tapping the bridge of New York`s glasses.
New York scowled at him, going cross-eyed for a moment. “No, I don`t,” he snapped. “I don`t care about dictating policy for the rest of the states.”
“Just for yourself?” Quebec asked softly.
“Damn right!” New York huffed.
A smile crept over Quebec`s face. “All right then.” He slipped his hands down into the waistband of New York`s pants, his tone dropping into seductive tones. “Why don`t we discuss enlarging our `trade corridor` then?
New York arched his hips, lifting one eyebrow in challenge. “All right, but you`d better give me some good deals if I agree.”
Quebec could have purred. “Of course cher. The very, very best.”
Notes: The incident being referred is the comments made by Bloc Quebecois leader Gilles Duceppe:
http://www.torontosun.com/news/canada/2010/03/22/13320541-qmi.html The issue with Texas NY refers to is this:
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/13/education/13texas.html For those curious, have a quick profile! I MAY do more with these two in the future.
Quebec: (Andre Bonnefoy) Late teens. Seen in one tiny picture in the Hetalia manga, he looks rather like America without the ahoge and glasses. His flower is the fleur de lis, which can be considered either as a lily or an iris. (Although the blue flag iris is the current flower, it used to be the Madonna lily. I went with lily after a long debate with myself, because the title flowed better that way.)
New York: (Isaac Hudson-Jones) Late teens (one year younger than Quebec, but slightly taller). Wears glasses (Manhattan). Dresses super-fashionable when he goes out, but is a bit of a slob around home. Is not known for smiling. (*sweatdrop*) His state flower is the rose.
So, okay, stupid stuff, but fun for me. I`ve been angsting over trying to finish the (unrelated) mini-bang fic lately, so I figured I`d throw these up for the hell of it.
And now, to bed~!
