MR. NANCY
Before Fat Charlie's father had come into the bar, the barman had been of the opinion that the whole karaoke evening was going to be an utter bust; but then the little old man had sashayed into the room, walked past the table of several blonde women with the fresh sunburns and smiles of tourists...He had tipped his hat to them, for he wore a hat, a spotless green fedora, and lemon-yellow gloves, and then he walked over to their table. They giggled....He was older than they were, much, much older; but he was charm itself, like something from a bygone age when fine manners and courtly gestures were worth something. The barman relaxed. With someone like this in the bar, it was going to be a good evening.
Sugar cookies with bay rum, tobacco, and lime. (from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's site)
Okay, first of all, I should mention that I purchased some of the half samples from a BPAL forum. They were actually smaller than I expected but still plenty to give a good sampling with enough oil left over for later. I'm just not used to working with (ie. wearing) oils instead of perfumes.
V. strong smell out of the vial, almost over-poweringly so. That eased on the skin though, the scent still strong but not over-whelming. I love this one, even if it is my first. It's a sweet scent that reminds me of baking in my grandmother's kitchen, while still having a manly tone to it. It's a more casual scent, especially for women. I wouldn't wear this on a fancy date, but it's perfect for heading out to the mall or with friends. It's a great Ananzi blend: playful and charming.
stormcloude is much better at describing these actual scents than me. I think right now it's still what would be considered "wet". Smells less like actual cookies and more like being in a kitchen while they're baking. There's a hint of the rum and maybe of cooking vanilla? The tobacco is this faint scent in the background that gives it some more substance, but I don't smell ant of the lime yet. Will follow this up as the day continues!
But I am enjoying how I smell. *winks*
Edit: several hours later
Pretty good staying power so far. The scent seems to darken as its worn. Think I can detect the lime now. It's hard to notice as it's mixed in with the other notes which I like as I'm not a fan of smelling like citrus.
The free bag of green Jasmine tea (numi) is exellent as well. V. yummy day today!
