What I'm Working On Now! [#8]
The title is deceiving because I'm not actually working on anything!
Yes, that means my thesis was defended successfully! :D
I defended this past Monday with the two members of my committee and another faculty member (whom I invited and had shown some interest in my research). First, I gave a twenty-minute presentation where I essentially gave an outline of the thesis. I even used a five-minute clip that was like a crash course in Johnny's idols and my adviser in particular seemed fairly intrigued by it. :) After that, my two committee members asked me questions in regards to my thesis and the third faculty member was also invited to do so. What it ended up being was about ninety-minutes of enjoyable conversation about my thesis, which honestly felt like I was metaing to people who wanted to know more. *laughs* It was great and I was pleased. Even more pleased when my adviser told me that her and the other member of my committee agreed that the thesis could be submitted as is without any revisions.
That said, my thesis has been submitted to the graduate school and now I am waiting for them to review it. We have an electronic submission process here, so once it is approved by the graduate school, it should be available with open, public access to anyone. When it is, I will post the link here for those interested and welcome all criticism and comments in regards to it. It is very much a work-in-progress and I would like anyone who is interested in helping to be a part of that work-in-progress as I am considering refining it into conference papers and/or journal articles. :)
Anyway, with all this said, I'm so grateful to every single one of you for being a part of the process of this thesis and making it happen. Without you, I would not have been able to have done this.
