I recently started 'sponsoring' a woman in the DRC through Women for Women Intl. and I got my welcome packet today with details about the woman I was matched with. They threw in some facts about the DRC, mostly depressing shit I've heard before. They also mentioned something to the effect that the average woman's income is $0.20/day. I was reading this as Blaise and I were sitting in a cafe eating and then on the way home. So we got home and I opened the van door to let him out and as he scrambled out he squealed "Money!" and triumphantly held up...a quarter.
