If everyone else is going to make some post about graduation, I might as well.
Everyone's talking about how elated and free they feel. Quite frankly folks, I'm still in "weekend mode". It doesn't feel like summer, and it certainly doesn't feel like I just graduated.
I did, however, get some hot cords because apparently I'm smart, as well as 4 different meaningless awards that vaguely describe something I may or may not have done during the school year to deserve such a fine honor. The only one I cared about was the top 10 percent in washington state graduates, yet I didn't get top 5 percent at egreen, which tells me i was pretty much next in line for top 5 at egreen. Unfortunately there were 3 people who got top 5 percent who didn't even get the black "honors" cords, meaning they didn't take or took very little honors and AP classes. Something tells me it's not right to have those take harder classes and lower GPAs due to it fall beneath those who take easy classes in class standings. So I pretty much got screwed out of being in the top 5%, and one of the noobs was our good friend kevin tran. id growl, but I'm tired, its 2:30 am. *edit* I forgot to mention the fact that this top 10% award didn't even have my name spelled properly. "Matthew Loverage". Fantastic.
Anyway, in celebration of the occasion, I hung out with jacob, greg, and kevin. tried to play some ultimate frisbee but it turns out even though frisbees are white you cant see them when there isn't enough light. Afterwards we went to muchas gracias, got some nachos and chilled. I was pretty much wasted so I was ready to go home, but they somehow managed to coax me into going to downtown portland with them right about 24 hours ago. I fell asleep and didnt wake up until we were already on the way back. They were looking for running fountains to run through. So I didn't miss much apparently, but had a pretty good night. Now I just need to survive the next 3 weeks without my good friend lynzee to keep me company every once in a while. I'll just have WoW and young teenagers babbling about gay people (literally gay) and how everyone else in the world is apparently gay. fantastic, where's my meds...?
I'm not quite ready to go to bed, so I'll continue to ramble a bit to extend this post. Ah yes, we moved all our computers down into our dining room along with our neighbor kyle to basically create a perpetual lan party. I should host something soon. play some generals or something. I'm going to spell check and fix this to make this experience last as long as possible.
Good day folks, have a splendid summer.
