I'm done with the rewrite. Finally!
I managed to get some use of the passages from the earlier draft, but the ending changed considerably. I'm not sure if it still makes sense; I should take a quick look at the last few paragraphs on the way home.
I think the pace is alright. Not much changed there...though later revisions might add or take away some words to make the story flow. Hopefully I can trim it down.
And this is more fantasy themed than HS piece, so hopefully it will get somewhat different--reads, better--receptions. First, I must finish the piece. End of June, perhaps.
For now, I'll catch up on the critters quota; revision starts next week!
