Back from GenCon...

...and so glad I went!

I had a great time this year at GenCon. I didn't get out to the pool as much as I'd hoped but other than that, very few complaints.

I left Thursday morning from Hell's Kitchen and was really reamed for the cab fare and was sort of broke when I touched down in Indy. Sort of upset, I wandered over to their Ground Transportation Center and looked into a shared cab and lo! there was a car available to my hotel for only $12! Score! I waited and a limo pulled up. They said my car had arrived and with my usual suave charm I replied, "Huhwhah?" and the driver picked up my bag and brought it to the limo and I got in. I then asked him if we were picking up anyone else and he said, "Nope."

Wow!

So after a lovely, comfy, cheap drive to the hotel, I ran into my roomie and checked out the place. To make a long story short, I'll summarize some highlights:

Thursday: Fun Champions game (streamlined to cut down on rules) and delicious sushi dinner.

Friday: A so-so superhero larp and a very fun (but very flawed) Seven Seas larp topped off with an outing at the very gamer-friendly Ram.

Saturday: Recovery from Friday, a game with
osito71 , then dinner at St. Elmo's steakhouse, which was fabulous! Then it was off to the White Wolf party to fight the food coma. The space was alright but the bad acoustics killed the song choices.

Sunday: Last minute shopping, a demo for a friend from the Dark Ages larp to try a game he's working on and a decent flight home.

And now: back. I'm excited to be playing a game I'm in on Friday and to a game a friend of mine picked up there called AlphaOmega, which looks cool. Very post-apocalypse-ey with guns and swords and spells!
