Good times with D&D tonight. We actually played for almost four of the five hours we spent at Chris' (subtracting the Wawa run and the car juggling, of course) and it was a load of fun. There were Reno 911 glasses, hats, holding peasants out of windows, wandering aimlessly because we were being lured by evil magic, castration, exploding orbs, giant spiders, zombies, and discussions about archetecture. I was also a brave little halfling and went off to explore the castle by myself, while Headly McPunch and Mikhil Miguel, the two fighters, went off together, and Erin and her protector Yasasuki mulled around in the dungeon. We also kept tallies of Rape, Dead Baby, Holocaust, and Stupid jokes which created much amusement. There was also a guy in the Wawa who said he'd tell Sam on me for shopping somewhere other than 7Eleven.
Off again tomorrow, which is sweet, and then the weird Wed. Thurs. Fri. hours start where I'm on 7-10am and 6-10pm. I'm slightly intrigued by this, and think that I may actually kind of like it. I'll be up early, so I don't waste my day sleeping, the middle of the day will be mine, and night hours are nothing I haven't tackled before. We'll see how it plays out.
Got most of my chores done today (with the exception of laundry that's still sitting on the washer/dryer, that I have to take out and fold after I finish) which was awesome, but couldn't finish Trent because D&D night intervened. I did a quick filler for tomorrow, so that I can spend all day doing the other two real updates for this week. I was inspired artisticly (sp?) while doing it though because I busted out this General Art pencil set I haven't used in over two years. It's a shame, too, because it's a nice pencil set, and it has two blueprint pencils, which I find are ideal for drawings you don't intend to ink and color. Basically I doodled here and there today and practiced my shading. In my crappy filler I promised a bonus art or quickie comic, which I think I'll do in this particular medium...I've had a few ideas lately. Maybe I could take a class on this at some point when I can afford it/have time/am motivated enough. Except for public school, I really haven't had any formal art training. I did take a course one summer on traditional mediums at this gorgeous building in Media somewhere, but I disliked it because all the other kids went to school together and so had no intention of including me in their conversations. The teacher was pretty good though, and it was the first time I got my hands on things like oil paint and canvas. I actually have two small canvases in my room, which I plan on painting on when I figure out what I want to paint. What I'm thinking is sketching it out in pencil first, and then painting over that. I do own a nice little collection of oil and acryllic colors in the badass art set Mom got me for Christmas in like 8th grade, so I've been itching to use them. Watercolors are fine for certain things, especially on thick, grainy paper, but they're impossible to master on canvas. Plus, I have a little bit of experience with acryllics thanks to senior year ceramics, which should serve me well.
Okay, well that's about it, so I'll see you all later.
