"I'm going to miss you guys next year!"

Above quote from Chip yesterday. That was a funny day. Lol.

Anyway, classes started yesterday, with English up first at 8 am. I didn't really mind though, because we had taken it easy the night before and Prof. Harbottle rocks my world. Yes, I have a paper due for the next class tomorrow on what I think magic is, but it's already finished so I don't have to worry about it now until I get it back. The class looks so cool, with a bunch of response papers written on what we think on any given topic, but they can be collected at any point without warning. So I just need to stay up on them. Besides all the fun reading and writing I get to do, they're segments on pop culture which includes watching tv, like the X-Files and Buffy (haha, what now, Liz?). I still need one more book for the class though, so if anyone has an extra copy of In a Glass Darkly by Sheridan Le Fanu, hit me up. Lol.

Next was Japanese, which is a lot of fun just due to the fact that we're all wandering around greeting each other and bowing awkwardly (apparently I'm a very polite psuedo-Japanese person). Plus we all have a pretty good sense of humor and Kawana-sensei is a sweetie. Today we got all confused on this cultural number thing:

"Beasley-san, baseball." "Uh...I thought we were doing numbers!"

"Which number would you associate with a rainbow?" "....." "Well, maybe it's different here, but in Japan, we have a seven color spectrum." "Ooooohhhh"

Plus today there was some mix up with room numbers in McDowell Hall and we had the first ten minutes of class with the Japanese 107.

Also yesterday was human geography, which I have with adopted Brendon from upstairs. We were joking about ice-breakers and then the teacher went and did one, lol. She seems pretty nice, but the first class was all stuff I'd gotten several times throughout my school career (ice cap, tundra, coniforous forest, etc. and latitude/longitude) so we didn't get into any cool cultural Mr. Cini type stuff yet.

The only new class I had today was Criminal Justice, which is my only lecture hall class. :) The prof, Dr. Tammy Anderson, is a little firecracker which is good, because it seems like she's up for good debate and will challenge you to argue with her. Plus she had cool shoes, blue toenail polish, and about three TAs.

Last night we all tried to go to a party, but it got cancelled before we arrived and nothing was happening even down at Ivy. We were all pretty POed that we'd walked all the way down to Ivy and then just turned around to come back, but then we spent most of the night in Chip's room b/c Greg had gone home again and he had it to himself. Langley came running in pretty late to announce that Dan had just had the floor's first hook up with this Lindsey girl from Russell A. He then proceeded to dash around the hallway, writing "Dan is a pimp" on every poster out there (and trust me, there's quite a few). Some of my favorites include "Yaaarrrr, Dan be a pimp!" and "The Passion of the Dan."

Some other really funny stuff happened, and then they all left the room a mess so Chip and I febreezed it and hung out in there watching tv and eating popcorn until about three am. We were pretty giddy, evidenced by when we had an intense discussion about shampoo and started smelling his Herbal Essences. Lol. Love that Chip!

Today was spent mostly doing homework and missing my dear, dear friends from home. It's weird that I get these random bouts of homesickness, but it's usually when I'm in the room without any idea what I'm doing that night or what anyone else is doing. I spent most of tonight with Jackie, who is really cool. We hit up the poster sale, finally, and I got a big Family Guy poster, a small Japanese tsunami/sea storm thing, and a small Van Gogh (I think) of those goldfish in the cylinder. I've always liked that painting because it used to be in Mrs. Bevalacoa's room at Hilltop and I'm a sucker for anything that can be traced into my deep past. Chels wants to go too, so maybe I'll get another big one tomorrow to fill the random empty space in the corner. But it's good now because my walls aren't so scary and concretey.

Last night we hooked up the cable too, but it won't seem to stay taped to the ceiling so we'll have to use Chip's duct tape to hold it up there.

Jackie, Anna, and I watched some Sex in the City tonight from Anna's DVD collection, and I helped Jaime out with some precalc over the phone. Haha, that just made me think of something my Criminal Justice prof. said today, "I don't curve." Lol.

Tonight we mostly just milled around and wished we had someplace to go and something to do. Finally, Chels, Laura, Emily (Laura's roomie), Erin, Jackie, and I went to the convience store to buy ice cream. I also got some of that Chef Boyardee spaghetti because I love it. Probably will eat it right out of the can too, lol. I'm gross, ah well.

We're planning to have a girls' "Sex in the City night" where we bake cookies and make cosmopolitans and just bond. It's super cute. We're also planning to throw Chip a birthday party tomorrow before and after the football game that everyone in the world is going to. We seriously have to get there an hour early to ensure we get the free student seating, and we may even have to go up to Trabant and buy tickets.

I downloaded itunes today, so I can finally make my mix cd I've wanted forever. Forever being about four weeks, lol. I need to mess around with it some so that I can make it though. Feel a little left out because almost everyone in my dorm has an ipod, and I carry around a regular walkman. Ah well, I'm different. :P

Haha, yesterday Langley, Brendon, Laura, Emily B., and I went to the gym at Little Bob's (which is the sports complex up in Old College). It was actually a really nice facility, with an indoor pool, some racketball/squash courts, basketball courts, probably a track and stuff too. It felt really good to work out some (although my combination of never eating and walking about three miles a day will most likely lose me some weight) and I'd like to go back, just not tomorrow. Too much to do.

Note to self: chance meal plan, dammit.

So, I'm having fun but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss you (you know who you are). Now, I have English at 8 tomorrow, so I'm going to bed, mofos.
