Just took a nice long walk around Sumiyoshi and Asakayama, and now I feel strange.
It was really nice, and I got to listen to the whole Fiery Furnaces album I'm Going Away, which I love. Plus I walked along the Yamatogawa for a bit and I think we all know how much I adore rivers.
Guess it's just really hitting me that this era is over. Janina and Shane are leaving tonight for home (they're already at the airport). Though they're seriously considering coming back to Japan for a more significant amount of time after the wedding and everything is over, I'm still not going to see them for awhile. Berni and Lee will be around, but they're all the way up in Bentencho and just bought a SNES today so they'll be holed up there all day. Dearbhla's been gone for almost two weeks now, and when she comes back, she'll be in Nagoya, not a ten minute bike ride away. Sarah's here with her sister, but she goes home for good in a few weeks and won't be coming back to Japan for probably at least a year. Patrick's already in Yokohama as of tonight.
It's just really lonely and sad.
The good news is that I have a ladies lunch with the teachers on Friday afternoon, and Thursday night I'm going to Ricky-chan's for dinner with Yui-chan. (Assuming this is still on and not being replaced by Friday's luncheon.)
Also--I'm going to be in Kanto at the end of the week. Why be upset?
