Public Service Announcment
Dear White Men: using "you people" to address the person on the other end of the phone, especially on a business call, is not considered polite.
That genius and another guy who ignored the messages I left him a month ago about what he needed to do, apparently expecting me to take his month-long silence as indication that I should just fix his account for him, were some of my fun fun people I dealt with yesterday, though the highlight had to be my poor supervisor having a mini-breakdown over the one project she had to take on from me (because I only have TWO WEEKS LEFT). Though on some level it's flattering that the department is falling down without me (another coworker is applying to transfer to a different department), it's also sort of upsetting to see it happen while I'm still there.
Then I came home from work and couldn't get the internet to connect. Fuck Tuesdays.
Today was substantially better, though I did quietly seethe with rage at several points and it took forever to get home thanks to some asshole who tipped his tractor trailer onto its side. Just gotta get through tomorrow and then this week is over.
Watched a couple hours of HGTV and it's making me really excited to get into my new place in Japan. Speaking of that, I got an email from Interact saying to expect my CoE sometime shortly after July 9th. At that point, I just gotta mail/take the CoE and my passport to the consulate in NY and get the actual visa, and then it'll be made official, yo. There's a Japanese proficiency test toward the end of this month, too, and shortly after that, I get the most anticipated news of all: placement.
I'm really starting to get pumped now. It's all getting more real and immediate every day and I both can't wait and am sad for it to come.
As a cool sign of kismet today, I went to BM for lunch (I needed comfort food) and got a coupon for buy 1 meal get 1 free. It can only be used Saturday, which made me sad since Megs is in D.C., but I texted her anyway on the way home on the off-chance she'd be around.
