Separate entry for awesomeness with Meghan.
So after dinner at Stanley's with my parents (ribs and craft beer!), Meg picked me up and we went to go see Friends with Kids, which turned out to be much better than a plot summary would lead you to believe. I can buy that people who were good friends but not attracted to each other would bond and fall in love via their mutual child. I also appreciated that when the male lead comes in and declares his love, the female lead's response is "What the hell am I supposed to do with that?" rather than folding immediately.
After the movie, there was BM. It was the first time Meghan had experience the new, classier Boston Market, which brings your food to the table with real dishes and silverware. Plus now you just leave your stuff at the table and they clean it up. SUPER CLASSY.
When we got back to my house, I convinced Meg to stay for Mario, and we had a wonderful display of how not to teamwork on World 8-3 for the next hour or so. So much jumping, and falling into lava, and suicide pacts when we were both at one life each.
Jess: Oh shit. We need to make a suicide pact.
Meg: What? Why?
Jess: Because we're each at one life. If we both die, we game over. So the minute someone bites it, the other bubbles.
Meg: So when you die, I have to bubble right away.
Jess: Basically.
*get a game over*
Jess: OH HELL NO! I AM NOT GOING BACK TO 8-1! *resets*
Jess: Well, I've died. Bubble.
Meg: ...
Jess: Bubble! BUBBLE, DAMMIT!
Meg: Okay, okay.
Jess: It wasn't worth it.
Meg: I just want you to know, I thought about going rogue there for a minute.
Jess: I know. I know.
