So here's the main cast of The Queen of the Sushi-Go-Round:
Because theme naming is fun when kanji's involved!
Our quixotic heroine is Hagimori Kayako, pretty obviously named after Yuri and Kayo--her first name kanji are "A Child Who is Good/Beautiful/Skilled" (that's irony, folks). Interestingly enough, that "to be" kanji is a classical one.
Her best friend and psuedo-older sister is Tokuda Mariko; the last name is Yuukorin's while the first name is what Ino's parents wanted to name her before she was born (though we all agree she's very まりこっぽい). Anyway, her first name's kanji is "Round Child" which is meant to be a reference to how she's a round character. I had the most fun tinkering with her psychology.
Finally is our shy straight man, Ikumoto Kazuma. Though the last name is Ryota's (Kazuma's loosely based on him), his first name means "Peace in the Center" which is meant to reflect his role as a mediator between the girls.
This is all lost in the English version of course, unless I want to annotate it or put a note in the back or something...or hint at it in the narration/dialogue, I dunno, but when I do the Japanese version, hopefully it won't go over people's heads.
