So both my interviews this week went well.
I wanted to give my name to both offices so that if one doesn't have something for me, the other might. Since Manayunk is right in between KOP and Center City, they're sure that they'll always be able to find something for me to do. This is rather exciting, I have to say.
I really like both offices in terms of their aesthetic merits, too. Neither seems like the kind of place you come to loathe after working there for a few months (honestly, except for 7Eleven and the telemarketing place, I've been fortunate enough to avoid that), and the people are all extremely nice, well-spoken, and professional. So I like them. :D
Yesterday I hit up the King of Prussia office and filled out paperwork such as the W4 and agreements to drug testing, etc. Today I drove into Center City to hit up the office off JFK, which was fine except that I missed the turn for the parking garage on Arch St. and had to loop all the way around to Logan Square and back. Since it was like 9:30 on a weekday though there was eerily no traffic and I had no problem...plus I got to drive past the international flags on the Parkway and scream "HANGUK-SARAM!" as I went by the one for South Korea.
I certainly hope no one ever looks into the car while I'm driving.
Since I filled everything out and did my testing yesterday, they basically just did an interview portion, which was quick and easy and we spent most of the time talking about Japan. This is looking better and better the more I get involved.
Tomorrow is (possibly) D.C. with Linh and her friend Rachel! It's less a pleasure trip and more a "go to the Japanese consulate for Rachel's visa" visit, but that's okay. It'll still be fun; I haven't been to D.C. since Meg's birthday a few years ago. Speaking of, we're supposed to go out to dinner tonight in Media, which will be fun times. Saturday is busy as in the morning I'm having a nomikai with Ino and whoever at the dorm wants to join in and then in the afternoon/evening I'm meeting up with Eunji.
Plus I might have a job starting this Monday...so stuff looks pretty good for right now at least. Whew.
