Where You At, Ghost?

Well, One Missed Call: Amerikajin version sucked.

Yappari.

Besides just being a huge (poorly thought out) Boost commercial, there wasn't really any part of the film that made me even jump much less disturb me enough to stay with me when I left the theatre. Again, the really cute side child character has been replaced with some stupid white kid who looks like death. And all the over-the-top elements from the first film (such as the dismembered hand dialing the phone) were missing, so it wasn't even funny.

It was strange that they kept the same hard candy from the Japanese version though; I think that substituting something more recognizable to an American audience would be a better idea, but that invites comparisons to that Jawbreaker film.

And just like the original, at the end of the day, you pussies all got pwn'd by an asthmatic ten-year-old.

So Cassie showed me this really bizarre and awful anime today: Mononoke. No, not the princess, this is a completely different animal entirely. First of all, the art is really bad and half-assed but really, really wants to be seen as abstract. The story (at least in the first two episodes) is convoluted and confusing and makes the plot of a Final Fantasy game look like a children's picture book. And yet, they seem to think that they're being metaphorical.

If nothing else, you should check it out just to see if you can follow what the fuck is going on.
