Can We Complain??

Women have it harder than a man in many instances.... makeup, bras, pantyhose, heels, mammograms, etc. And we pawn their uncomfortable nature off on men. "This is so uncomfortable, it had to have been invented by a man." So I have decided to uncover the truth.

The bra was invented by none other than.... a woman. Ms. Mary Phelps Jacob as an alternative to a corset. Why? Because she'd bought a sheer dress with a plunging neckline (can we say 'ho'?) and didn't want her corset so show. So yes, at one point in history, a bra was actually liberating. Go figure. So my advice on this one, don't complain. Instead just take that baby off & let em breathe. :)

As for pantyhose, a man. But Mr. Glen Raven Mills invention was also a liberation for women of the time. They were made to replace the need for both underpants & stockings. Instead, we now have them all in one & seamless at that. Not only did he succeed in making it easier for women to get dressed in the morning, his invention coincided with the invention of the mini skirt. Thanks for helping us look more sexy Mr. Mills. For those femenists out there who think this makes it an even more sexist invention I say go bare. But please, if you must do this, shave. (This itself is a pain, but we're not in Europe)

Mammograms are more difficult to research & I have yet to find their inventor. But I like Jenny's idea. "Men can get prostate cancer. They should have theirs checked too. I think we should throw their stuff up on a table & let a machine squish in into a pancake to get a picture." Seriously, if we did this, how long would it take for them to come up w/ a more comfortable method of "early detection." A week?
