Most of the day was spent in the apartment watching anime and being generally hungry cos we din have proper to eat... The plan was to leave at 5pm for Ohari Park with the rest of the gang. I had to help tie the obi for my host since it's almost impossible to put it on let alone tie your own... Luckily we have recorded a video at the shop which helped somewhat. Although we later learned that it was wrongly tied tied in another method...
Counting me, there were 3 guys in the group with me being the only one without a yukata... And the rest being girls were not even remotely ready at 5pm so we waited till about 5.30pm where we finally left for the subway station. There was this girl, where wore the Geita for the first time... I really mean first time... She has not even worn the japanese slippers (the ones where you have to grag when you walk and make loud slapping noises when you come down stairs...). Needless to say, it was a long and painful (even for us... especially for us...) journey to the station...
I was surprised that even though there were 2 or 3 Japanese tutors with us, they couldn't find the way down to the station from the Fukuoka art museum entrance (the one with the Hidden Leaf Village sigil... lol). It was so obvious to take the escalator down but no, there were looking for a better way... In the end, we took the lift (which we passed by before) and finally! the station...
The station was packed! Pretty girls in yukatas everywhere! Why wasn't the aircon working!!!
The human sardine rush at the exit station...
So we got out of the station and waited again because of some arrangements they made with even more people so when we finally got moving, we passed this... river? or drain? dunno...
See the white path running beside the vegetation? the pedestrian path and station exit is beside it...
Here's another where I thought the water was solid ground...
The line of ants people marching to the fair...
Some sneaky shot that I took... Quite pretty but ugly yukatas...
We kinda split from the others and went out own way... and of course, we were still hungry so we went to buy food... The stuff on sale was quite ex at 500¥ (aprox SGD7.50) for a box of fired noodles that tasted horrible. We also got some other fried vege thing, dunno wat's it called. Tasted even more horrible We also got ice (think ice-kachang without any filling) at the same price, if memory serves.
The food stalls near the entrance where we came in from.
The crowd gathers as twilight sets in...
The sky flowers bloom...
This one was supposed to be a heart shape... there were some of these fired but didn't manage to capture...
After that we took a lot of silly photos which have been censored then went for a proper dinner at some diner we found... I don't have those pics either as there were taken with their cameras... =( Where are those pics!!!
Anyway, got back around 1 or 2am... I think finally slept at 4 or so... cos after that we still went to play fireworks on our own... Think we bought them at Lawson... for 2500+¥ (approx SGD37)...
And that finally wraps up day 10.
