CHANGE IN 2009 DEEPAVALI DATE
The Hindu Endowments Board (HEB) has confirmed that Deepavali will fall on 17 October 2009 (Saturday) instead of the earlier announced 15 November 2009 (Sunday).
Since Deepavali is no longer on 15 November 2009 (Sunday), 16 November 2009 (Monday) will not be a public holiday. Instead, 17 October 2009 will be gazetted as a public holiday.
