Spring Series

This spring's season of anime is really... bountiful... I don't know how I'm going to manage it but here's the list that I've started on. May eventually drop a few, or maybe not.

First up is Claymore. This anime is about the silver-eyed witches who are half human and half demon. Originally humans, they are usually orphans taken in my the organization and somehow infused with demon DNA or something. Their job is to seek out demons and destroy them... for money, it seems.

The story follows Clare, who in the first episode saves a boy and pities him, taking him as her cook. The witches are dispised as demonic but villages plagued my demons usually resort to calling on them. These witches are supposed to be emotionally cold so that they can do their jobs effectively before eventually losing their minds to their demonic half.

El Cazador de la bruja is about this bounty hunter who suddenly decides to protect this girl from other bounty hunters. The girl has something/power that people want. Haven't watched enough to know the full story yet but seems promising...

Bokurano is about 14 students who stumble upon a cave with a man inside who leads them to believe that he is developing a game and he gets them to sign up as beta testers. Well, it's not game and so far, the story doesn't really reveal much except that they get to pilot a huge robot to fight off equally huge enemy robots. The kids get a chair that meteralizes based on their past or character.

I may drop this series since it is pretty boring... as in the development of the storyline.

This needs no introduction. The classic R&J set in a fantasy land. Juliet survives the destruction of her house by growing up as a boy, Odin. By chance, this peasant meets Romeo at a ball and it's love at first sight. Actually they met earlier when she was dressed as a boy and Romeo was already attracted to him somewhat.

Darker than Black seems promising. Contractors (people with different powers) and dolls (fake humans) run amok after something happens to the world blotting out the stars. Each star they see now is a contractor and each one that falls is one dying. The doesn't tell you why or how these things are happening in one go and reveals the story as you go along. Somewhat like Bokurano but it's more engaging and there's enough action scenes to up you interesteed and come back wanting for more.

Heroic Age tells of a saviour of the human race, raised by some powerful beings and having some great powers bestowed on him by them. Don't really understand the story yet but this saviour grew up in the wild andafter being found, is not accepted by the humans yet because of his wild ways.

Sola or rather it should be Sora is about this kid who likes to take pictures of the sky. One day he meets this girl while waiting for his sunrise shot. It turns out that she's some creature who cannot see the sun and has lived for many centuries. She's still innocent after all this time but know that there are people pursuing her. She has shown some ability to cause natural processes to accelerate, like causing a scaffolding to rust rapidly and collapse.

It's pretty slow moving but I may stick with it. For a while, at least.

Hayate no Gotoku! is funny! It may turn out to be one of by favourites this season along with Nodame Cantabile. It's about this kid who has really irresponsible parents who squander their savings on their dreams and he worked to support them. They eventually got hold of all his cash and abandoned him with a large debt. He finally manages to escape from the debtors and decides to kidnap a rich girl. But he says the wrong thing, leading her to believe that he had just confessed his love for her. He ends up saving her from his debtors and she is grateful enough to give him a job as her butler.

The jokes are funny and the characters often talk to the camera and know full well that this is an anime. Funny stuff, highly recommended (unless you don't like comedies).

Idolmaster XENOGLOSSIA. Can't tell you much about this cos although I've got 3 episodes, I havent time to watch them yet.

Besides these, there are still the long running ones like Naruto and Bleach plus trying to catch up on those other series that I had no time to watch...

And the new episode Heros is excellent! Not to mention I still follow Smallville and Prison Break and Battlestar Galactica... So many shows to watch, so little time... T_T
