Woot. So I'll go over my entire week on Martha's Vineyard which means that this post is going to be long as hell. Pictures won't start until I reach Friday as that's the only time I really have pictures from since I forgot my camera :( Woe. Most of this you'll likely have read some of in meteorfreak's post if you're friends with her >> But ... read it anyway. Fff.

So, without further ado, I bring you the very image heavy post...

The Epic Martha's Vineyard Wedding Post

SUNDAY, JULY 19TH; I luckily got to sleep in some and even sneak online for a little bit after finishing up last minute packing because Sarah's parents didn't show up until 2 PM. They had two cars which were mostly filled with wedding stuff and only had room for one person in each. So Sarah went with her mother and I took the 4 hour drive in the care with her dad. Kevin is great - he's a nice, funny guy who I happen to have a great deal in common with. We spent most of the ride talking about music, good coffee, movies, and history. We only had to make two stops, surprisingly. I was shocked since usually Pam and Sarah have to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes. One of the stops was my fault because I needed food before I killed someone. Ugh, pit stop Burger King is so disgusting. We arrived at the ferry about 30 minutes early - we each had different times, Pam and Sarah's ferry being about 15 minutes after ours, so they went and got dinner while Kevin and I got on the boat (where we got dinner because it had a snack bar). I sang I'm On A Boat in my head the entire 45 minute ride to the island. Sob. When we got there, we had to wait about 20 minutes before Pam and Sarah arrived, then we unpacked, watched some NCIS, and then crashed. Not a very exciting day :( Traveling sucks.

MONDAY, JULY 20TH; It was another... pretty boring day. Mostly we sat around reading, watching TV, and playing cards with Sarah's family. Her grandmother and mom cooked some of the food we'd be eating at the wedding (Joann (grandma) had been literally cooking food for it since June? Crazy woman) and at some point, Pam came with Sarah and I and her grandpa to go out to the lake where Jim (grandpa) keeps his Sunfish. For those of you who don't know what that is, it's kind of like a small sailboat. Very small. As in it can only fit three to four people at most on it. There wasn't any wind though so Sarah, Pam, and Jim went swimming and I drew in my sketchbook. When we got home, we helped with dinner, I drew some more, we played some more cards, watched more TV, and one again went to bed early. So far this is making this trip sound like the most boring thing in the world.

TUESDAY, JULY 21ST; Tuesday was... again pretty boring. So much so that I can't even really remember what we did. I think this was the day Sarah and I did some frosting tasting to see which recipe Joann was going to use on the homemade strawberry cake for the wedding. And I think that was pretty much it. Other than that, it was the same as the day before - cooking, cards, TV, and sleep. OH! And I finally saw the pilot episodes of Lost. I'd seen every episode but. GO FIGURE, RIGHT?

WEDNESDAY, JULY 22ND; Okay so Wednesday was kind of fun. At least for me. Sarah's family couldn't afford to rent a bridal tent so we had to figure out some alternate means for protecting people in case it rained. The A-Frame that Sarah's grandparents built is too small to house 30+ people so that was out. What we did was go out and buy three posts which we nailed to the porch and then we got two large blue tarps that we duct taped together. We hung a hook under the top window of the A-Frame's second story and then attached the other ends to the different posts. We tied the other corners up to the platforms of the house and it made this cool little tent thing over the deck. It was nice - and with the Tiki torches outside repelling bugs from the area, it was a perfect solution. We got it up before everyone arrived so that we wouldn't have to worry about it. Joann cooked for the picnic we were going to have the next day while we did all of this. She loves cooking. At around 4:00, we went to pick up Sarah's Maid of Honor from the airport. Sara was flying in from Delaware and she stayed in the A-Frame with us the entire time she was there - well, at least up until Saturday night. But I'll get to that. We took her into Oak Bluffs for Ice Cream and to go on the Flying Horses. It's the oldest carousel in the US, for those of you who don't know. You go around on it and try to catch as many rings from this one machine as possible. If you get the brass ring, you win a free ride. The lady in front of me got the ring :| EFF HER. After that, we came back home, showed Sara some NCIS, and then Sara's boyfriend Chris called. We found out that he was from Illinois, just like Sarah, and the two of them ended up talking for 45 minutes while Sara and I shook our heads at them. It was pretty amusing. My parents ended up catching the last ferry out to the island and swung by the A-Frame to say hello to me at around 11:30 before they went to go and check in to their hotel. It was so nice to see my mom :( I missed her so much. After that, we took Terra for a walk and went to bed. It was a good day ;;

THURSDAY, JULY 23RD; My mommy's birthday! I went out to spend time with her before the picnic and we went out to lunch in Oak Bluffs. We walked around for a little while, did some shopping, and she bought me this gorgeous blanket from a Tibetan store as a wedding present. It's probably going to get hung on the wall. I love it so much. After that, we went back to her hotel room, sat around for a while, and then she, my stepdad and I all went back to the A-Frame for the picnic. Because it was pretty cold and starting to rain some, we decided to have it at the house. The rain didn't last but I was glad that we decided to stay anyway. It was so much easier. At around 6:15, all our friends from Portland arrived - our roommate Katrina, her boyfriend Darren, our other roommate Shanna (pronounced shaw-nuh), and our friend and photographer Devon. They had rented a cabin together in the campground but they came by the A-Frame first for food and chatting. They hung around until about 8:00 because check-in for the campground was 9 at the latest. They were tired from traveling so we followed them over there, helped them get settled, and then went to pick up feemtoon at the ferry. It was my first time meeting Beth face to face so I was a little nervous, but we seemed to get comfortable pretty quickly. I guess knowing each other for so long on the internet made it a little less awkward :D She's as awesome as she seems, if not more so. She too stayed at the A-Frame with us until Saturday. Joann cooked her some leftover food, we sat around for a while, and around ten or so, my parents finally headed back to their hotel. We cleaned up, Beth, Sara, Sarah, and I watched some TV and then went to bed.

FRIDAY, JULY 24th; Day before the wedding! At around 10 AM, Beth, Sara, Sarah, Kevin and I went over to the mansion we were having the wedding at. We checked it out for a little while before heading back towards the A-Frame. We picked up some fish for Saturday in Menemsha and when we got back, we had some lunch. My dad, my sister Katie, her girlfriend Lin, and my dad's girlfriend Lena showed up at around 4ish and they sat around and talked for a while. Katrina, Darren, Shanna, and Devon came by at around 4:30 and my mom and John shortly after. Around 5, my mom, John, Katrina, Darren, Shanna, Devon, Sara, Beth, Sarah, Kevin, Pam and I went to the rehearsal while everyone else stayed at the A-Frame until dinner. Sarah's brother James arrived sometime while we were gone.

That was the chapel we got married in. The guy who lives on the property used to be a minister. Basically, minister's used to get houses that they lived in while they worked with a church so they didn't have to pay for housing expenses or anything. It was all taken care of. The problem with that, however, was that when you retired, you no longer had a place to live and had no money usually to afford a place to live either. So churches started giving money to people to buy their own house if they wanted. The minister who let us use his house was one of the people who didn't have a place to go - so his church got together and bought him this house on Martha's Vineyard. He just has to take care of the property it's on and he can live there with his wife for completely free. He has a ton of landscaped gardens that are totally beautiful. Here are some more pictures from after the rehearsal was done:

Pam and Shanna

Beth and Pam playing with the tether ball like thing while the rest of us did our own thang.

After we finished up there, we all went up to Gay Head (/snickers) to meet up with everyone else for the rehearsal dinner at the Aquinnah restaurant.

This was our view throughout dinner:

It was pretty windy and cold out at first and Jim kept complaining about it - Sarah's grandparents are from Florida so they were easily made cold. Everyone else had brought extra sweaters but he kept saying we should head inside, that Sarah should say we should go inside because everyone would listen to the bride, that it was too cold, that it was too windy, and he kept pushing. So Kevin and Sarah decided to keep him warm:

The wind died down after the sun set, but unfortunately that was when all the mosquitoes started to come out. They were everywhere. So we were finally forced to go inside because we all were tired of getting bitten :( Stupid bugs. It was nice inside though and we all had a lot of fun talking, eating, and not getting bitten and itchy because of it. We stayed in the restaurant until about 10 and then everyone headed back to their lodges and what-not. Beth and I decided to rough it and walk through the dark down to the parking lot with Kevin to get to the car. I tripped at least three times and stubbed my toe once. I hate nature :( But we survived! And Beth saw stars! Yay Beth!

We were pretty tired when we got back so everybody went to bed because we all had to get up early for the big day.

SATURDAY, JULY 25TH; Sarah was a pretty relaxed bride throughout everything. That was until Saturday. We woke up at about 9:30 because Sarah and her side of the wedding party had a hair appointment at 10 while my side of the wedding party was going to go out with my mom and my sister and Lin for lunch and some fun times on the island. Devon went with Sarah so I only have pictures of Sarah's hair :( But I promise you, Beth, Shanna, my mom, Katie, Lin and I had the most awesome day ever. Back on topic; when we were getting ready to leave, Sarah got upset over... something, I can't remember what, but I'm pretty sure her mother had been a bit bitchy to her and she got upset and went upstairs saying she wasn't going anywhere. She was crying for a while but eventually she pulled herself together and we went down to Oak Bluffs. Beth, Shanna and I hunted for an ATM after the rest of them went to the hair styling place and when we found it, we dropped some money off with Sarah, then went to meet my mother at her hotel. We went out to lunch and had the most amazing french fries ever (they were cooked in Truffle Oil and had italian seasonings on them. Mmmm...). After that, we did some more shopping stuff, I got some scarves, and we met up with Devon and Shanna after Sarah, Sara, and Katerina had gotten picked up by Pam. Here's a picture of Sarah from the salon:

Devon, Shanna, Beth and I hung out with my mom after my dad came and picked up my sister and Lin. We were supposed to sit around and wait for Sarah to call and tell us it was okay to come back to the A-Frame since I wasn't supposed to see her until the ceremony. It hit 3:15 and we were like 'Okay, wtf, why hasn't she called?' So Devon called Sara and Sara said we should come by at 4. I had to call back and explain that everyone was arriving at 4 because we were leaving at 4 and that we had to be back no later than 3:45 to get ready. I told her she could work something out if I wasn't supposed to see her because it was our only option. We got lost on our way home though :( So we ended up showing around 3:50, quickly got dressed, and people starting arriving. My mom and John got their first, then meteorfreak and her mother :D Serena is so short guys :( I love it. And she looks awesome in orange. And her mom was sooo nice ;; I love her. I wanted to take them both back to Portland with me forever. BUT ANYWAY, after that, my dad and the rest of my family arrived and we were finally able to all leave. I dashed out first and road over with Serena and her mom to the chapel and Sarah left after me so I wouldn't see her. We all scootched into the chapel and... here are the pictures from the ceremony:

Sara really liked her flowers.

Sarah waiting to go in.

Her father walking her in.

James' speech was so sweet omg :(

We had THREE cakes. The giant one was vanilla and raspberry, then there was a strawberry cake, and a flourless chocolate cake. All so good.

LMAO SHANNA

They were disappointed we didn't smash cake into each others faces, so they put frosting on people.

Terra :D She wanted food too :(

The rings :)

When everyone was ready to go home, Shanna relaxed :D The shirt is trufax.

After that, everyone just sort of mingled around until 11ish before going back to their hotels. We cleaned everything up and then everyone went to bed. Beth and Sara went back with the others to the cabin instead of staying with us so we could have privacy. James slept in a tent in the yard the entire weekend so yes. Sorry guys, no details on that part >>

SUNDAY, JULY 26TH; We bid goodbye to Beth and the others :( I was really sad to see them go especially since I don't know when I'll get to see Beth again. But hopefully soon. It was so much fun spending time with everyone. I spent most of the day after that showing Sarah James Bond films and after that, we went to meet my mom and John for dinner. We went to a nice place in Oak Bluffs called The Oceanview and had a great time. We stayed out pretty late and when we got home, we were all so tired we... once again went to bed. It was a slow day. Perfection.

MONDAY, JULY 27TH; Sarah and I took Sara to the airport and we said goodbye :( Then we met my mom for lunch and went to a nice Italian place next to their hotel. We discussed London details and then we went and get John and took him on the Flying Horses. ONCE AGAIN, the person in front of me go it :| We shopped around again, Sarah got a new dress, I got a new shirt, and then around 4:30 I said goodbye to my mom and John so they could catch their ferry :( I miss her so much already. Ugh. Sarah and I went back to the A-Frame, had dinner, played cards, watched TV, packed, and went to bed.

TUESDAY, JULY 28TH; After having lunch with some family friends, Sarah and I went to our ferry and came home! That was the end of the trip. Fun times had by all. The end.

I know most of that was boring but LMAO OH WELL. I hope you guys enjoyed it. If you read it all. Longest post ever sdjklfjsdk
