Something that I was thinking about in high school with relationships was that if you fuck up before you reach the 6 month mark it would be over. Like the first 6 months are supposed to be the foundation part and well after that point you would get like a "get out of jail free" card or basically if you fucked up, you would have a chance to redeem yourself...granted you have to do a lot of groveling, but its redeemable.
