We joined the motor-cade touring the Luminarias a few years ago, with Bill's mom in the car. She was a little panicky because it looked like we'd miss jepardy - I was able to re-assure her I was recording it, so she could enjoy the lights! Old people get set in their ways. As usual, we'll be setting our own out this year on Christmas eve, then probably walk our own district to enjoy the display that our neighbors and neighborhood society put on.

One thing that is slowly affecting the quality of the experience is that new cars must by law have automatic side lights that come on at night. You used to be able to drive with lights off and tour the area - now modern cars glare out of the darkness, cancelling the effect of the Luminaria.
