Wonder Woman Movie... Some thoughts...
I watched Wonder Woman last night.. I had heard about how empowering it was to women...
It was 2 hours of:
Diana: "I am going to go do a heroic thing..."
Men: "No no... That would be bad..."
Diana: *goes off and does it anyway..*
Men: "Wow maybe we should have listened..."
Diana: "I am going to go do another heroic thing..."
Men: "No no... That would be bad..."
Repeat...
If Peggy Carter was as annoying and inhibitive as Steve Trevor was, She'd never have gotten her own show.
If I were her I'd have been slitting throats the 3rd time I was told to cover myself. "ah... miss, you shouldn't go in there..." *Ssssschlerk!* "Put that away you can't show tha..." *SHANK!* "Don't you think we should ignore what you were suggesting and do men type stuff?" *SLAUGHTER*.
I wonder if she even continued to listen to them or did it just turn into a combination of the Peanuts adult horn mixed with the "Manly Men" Song from "Two and a half men"...
Diana: "I am going to go and save those orphaned puppies from the chipper shredder"
Men: "Men men men men, manly men men men!"
Diana: "uh.. yeah... I am going to go rescue those babies from those Amazonian piranha..
Men: "Men men men men, manly men men men!"
Diana: "Right... why don't you guys just stand over there while I solve this whole global apocalypse thing...
Men: "Mmmmmmennnnnnnnnn!"
I have a feeling that if I were a woman I'd have been labeled uppity a LONG TIME AGO.
All in all, the best DC Movie that has come out since "The Dark Knight". Gal was great. Action was Great. Plot was meh.. People other than Gal... poop. As far movies in their own regard... C / C-.
